This innovation leader will drive collaboration across Philips businesses to ensure that system subcomponents are designed for interoperability, and implemented and operated as per defined policies, standards, as well as industry best practices. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with deep technical skills and, more importantly, a pragmatist who can think outside the box. The individual must be highly collaborative as they will need to influence E2E senior business leaders, functional leadership, project and application managers, quality and regulatory managers, other architects, engineers, developers and services. This role requires an E2E perspective, ideally with an understanding of the application and use of systems by sales and services.

You are responsible for

  • Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery

  • Defines scope and problem domain in a crisp and structured way: defining the problem with stakeholders and documenting key issues.

  • Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies.

  • Delivers a consolidated architecture creating well-defined building blocks / system options & scenarios; choosing the optimal architecture, leveraging technology and contributing to / driving roadmaps, and driving technical spikes (IP).

  • Ensures good and up to date documentation of the architecture and implementation thereof; using methods & tools for a structured approach.

  • Drives an accepted implementation of architecture, by explaining, convincing, deciding; incl. validation and verification; architecture lifecycle management; teaming-up for results.

  • Acts within the total context (business, organization, roadmaps, industry, etc.): driving for convergence and aligning for interoperability.

  • Works with customers, stakeholders, solution and product managers to understand the upcoming requirements of the system.

  • Understands and communicates the requirements of the system.

  • Thinks in terms of risk and identifies risk mitigation strategies.

  • Evaluates design alternatives, and performs cost benefit analysis.

  • Develops and maintains documents and models to describe “how” the systems does what it is intended to do including recommended domain and use case models.

  • Defines and splits architectural epics into features of the program and portfolio Backlog.

  • Presents the technological and operational vision of the solution during release planning.

  • Serves as a mentor and coach to teams to make appropriate system and component design decisions during implementations.

  • Works with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to establish the Architectural Runway.

  • Inspects and adapts: solving issues and learning from them.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • The System Architect collaborates across MA&TC with the Solutions Managers and Product Managers including Services Product Management to define and set strategy for enterprise Systems.

  • The System Architect collaborates with the Solutions Manager and Product Managers to contribute to the Integrated Roadmap for MA&TC.

  • Collaborate with the Solution, Services and Product Managers, define priority of requirements and then assists with the work breakdown of the requirements into the PI(s).

  • The Systems Architect works with the BU development team(s) to design and support the realization of the defined System.

  • The System Architect works with the Product and Services teams to define the life cycle management strategy. If the life cycle of the components is not in alignment with the System, the System Architect defines gaps and assists in the requirements and prioritization of the life cycle management deficiencies.

  • The System Architect works with the Solutions Teams to enable and support the requirements for Systems Change Management (gap definition, scheduling, training).

  • The System Architect will define System Level Quality collaborating with Q&R, Solutions and Product Management and the Development teams. This will include System level testing to ensure overall System Quality.

  • The System Architect will collaborate with Systems/Product Support and Services to define a Systems design, test and support approach during selling, install and support, including lifecycle support, from readiness to end of life.

As the technical leader and project owner for the architectural design, development, and deployment of enterprise scale healthcare systems, you will be responsible for working in a dynamic, agile, high impact environment to design and implement solutions that are ultimately responsible for saving lives and improving patient outcomes. You will define complex system solutions that include clinical, technical, operational requirements and new financial models. As an innovation leader you will forge collaborations internally with business leaders, stay on top of industry trends, and evaluate new technologies for complex systems that provide seamless and interoperable solutions for our customers. You will be tasked with translating cutting edge technologies into compelling business propositions and build new solution-service combination business model concepts to drive the future of healthcare!

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • 10 + years of experience with Systems Engineering including design, process and documentation

  • 5 + years of Systems Engineering with direct customer interaction

  • 5+ Experience of Presenting and communicating to Management and Customer Management

  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of general IT infrastructure technology, systems and management processes
