Sensata Technologies, Inc. Chief Information & Digital Officer in Attleboro, Massachusetts

The Information Technology (IT) organization is part of the Chief Technology Office. The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for leading the organization’s Information Technology function. The role designs a strategic vision of how technology will transform the business, educate peers and other business leaders on data monetization and value-added services as the next engines of growth, and crafts a compelling enterprise narrative on the changes required for success in digitization.

The CIO is responsible for the strategy, management, transformation, and execution of Sensata’s Global IT organization. This includes but is not limited to setting objectives and strategies, selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline internal operations and optimizing their strategic benefits, product and cybersecurity solutions, and designing and customizing technological systems and platforms that will enable the acquisition driven growth of the company. Additionally, the role is responsible for implementing digital tools to enable better decision making across the organization and to improve the customer experience.

We are looking for a tech savvy leader to align with our business, especially our new growth areas of Electrification, Clean Energy and Insights.

This role will ideally be located in our Corporate Headquarters in Attleboro, MA. The role is not remote, but Sensata has a hybrid working environment.



Strategic Direction Setting

  • Keeps abreast of emerging digital and business trends and collaborates with other business leaders to embed digital opportunities in business strategy

  • Develops and executes an IT strategy that takes advantage of emerging technologies to contribute to business strategy (cloud computing, SaaS and subscription models, etc.)

  • Educates C-level peers and the business at large about the enterprise changes that underpin success in digitization

  • Works with stakeholders to continually optimize IT governance and decision-making processes as the business context and technology landscape changes

Service and Product Delivery

  • Designs and executes the organization-wide big data roadmap and engagement model for data governance, data engineering, and data science

  • Provides the internal and external connections needed to implement enterprise-wide changes required for success in digitization

  • Uses change management expertise and an end-to-end understanding of the digital value chain to coach business leaders on driving enterprise change

  • Owns the process of defining and managing one or more of the enterprise changes that underpin successful digitization as the opportunity arises

  • Leads the implementation of industry standards and development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps, to increase responsiveness and growth

  • Establishes and implements appropriate standards and criteria for hardware, software, email and web firewall, access verification and encryption requirements

  • Provides oversight and administrative direction in project management activities for technology projects

  • Identifies outsourcing needs and oversees relationships and contracts with outsourcing organizations and external service providers

Functional Management

  • Directs and oversees the management of the IT budget process, costs, and resources for the IT organization

  • Designs and implements an IT-business engagement model to identify and shape demand and align IT’s offerings with business needs

  • Oversees sourcing decisions and scalable vendor management processes

  • Responsible for the direction, coordination and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans with businesses

  • Oversees the development of appropriate governance frameworks and mechanisms for the effective use of information and technology to create value and manage risk

  • Oversees measurement and reporting of IT systems’ reliability, performance, security and business value

Staff and Leadership Development

  • Oversees a strategic workforce plan’s development and implementation to maximize the current and future workforce’s effectiveness in light of strategic business priorities

  • Builds the next generation of leaders and oversees training programs to develop the digital skills of IT and business employees

  • Oversees the creation of a compelling employment value proposition to attract and retain critical talent

  • Contributes to company-level goals for talent development, diversity, and inclusion



  • Experienced in Digital Transformations and able to serve as a SME in this arena

  • Experience in the building out of IT teams that are able to execute quickly and effectively but with big-picture business objectives in mind that align to the vision of the company

  • Breadth of knowledge around Infrastructure and Operations, Applications, Project Management, and Information and Cyber Security

  • Product driven company experience required

  • Superior project management and prioritization skills ensuring the delivery of complex projects on-time, on-budget, and on-scope

  • Dynamic, engaging, self-reliant and entrepreneurial senior executive, accustomed to managing with a collaborative, fact-based approach

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, strong, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to plan and execute projects within time and budget constraints

  • Integral knowledge of cybersecurity and related best practices

  • Cyber security knowledge from both an Enterprise IT perspective as well as an end product perspective within a Software as a Service business

  • Demonstrated ability to build followership

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields related to business, computer science, HR, or finance

  • 15+ years of professional experience; 10+ years of leadership

  • US Citizenship or valid Green Card we are an ITAR compliant company

  • Travel required 25%


  • Knowledge of GDPR strongly preferred

  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with M&A and subsequent integration of people, processes, and technology

  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Advanced Technical and Business Degrees preferred

  • Familiarity with Vendor/Partner driven environments and SLA/KPI management

  • Experience with Global ERP environments (Oracle or SAP)
