The MITRE Corporation 5G Security Architect in Bedford, Massachusetts

We seek to hire a 5G Security Architect to work with our customers to define and execute the strategy for achieving adoption of secure and resilient 5G technology that supports the needs of the US Government and the nation’s critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Define 5G enterprise security architectures.

  • Develop threat frameworks against 5G architectures.

  • Perform systems engineering for enterprise solutions that include 5G.

  • Define and perform 5G proof-of-concept experimentation

  • Assess security threats associated with 5G use cases and develop mitigations to address those threats.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and 10 years of related experience, including 2 years of leadership experience

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years’ experience in cellular networks R&D or engineering.

  • Knowledge of LTE/5G security-related standards.

  • Experience with information security threats and mitigation techniques.

  • Effective communications and presentation skills.

  • Obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree.

  • Experience working for a Tier 1 vendor or Mobile Network Operator.

  • Participation in 3GPP, ITU, IETF, ETSI or related standards bodies.

  • Experience with software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) technologies.

  • Knowledge of enterprise security architectures and zero trust principles.

  • Knowledge of identity management and cryptography technologies.

  • Experience with container and/or cloud technologies.

  • Experience with orchestration and optimization of operational technologies.
