Join MITRE’s Resilient Infrastructure and Weapons Systems Department. Our work program is central to the cyber resilience of DoD missions and integral to the activities of the other MITRE portfolios. In partnership, our goal is to ensure Cyberspace Superiority and ensure Joint Forces can achieve their missions in a contested cyberspace environment.

Currently seeking a Associate Cyber Security Engineer. This position is an exciting opportunity to deploy cyber-resilient capabilities to enable multi-domain operations through the development, acquisition, and sustainment of secure, robust, and resilient systems. This includes support for resolving technical challenges related to advanced cyber threats through the application or development of technologies and conducting research and technology evaluation of innovative solutions. In this position, the candidate will support our AF projects and provide hands-on development, testing, and integration of cyber mitigation solutions aimed at improved mission effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related degree and some familiarity with cybersecurity principles, frameworks, concepts, and technologies.

  • The successful candidate will have 2 or more years of experience in systems engineering and cyber security processes and tools.

  • Good organizational, writing, and briefing skills are critical.

  • Ability to work successfully in small teams of engineers and collaborate on engineering products, demonstrations, and presentations.

  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government secret security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity controls and/or mitigations; Experience with Python, C/++, Java, or another programming language; Knowledge of AF customer and operations.

  • Possess an active secret security security
