The System and Mission Analysis Department is charged with identifying, developing and applying new technologies that can address the Government's most challenging Systems Engineering problems.

This is an opportunity a Systems Engineer is highly motivated, innovative and proactive. This position provides challenging opportunities to apply and expand one’s systems architecture, modeling and tradespace analysis skills. Specific areas of interest include practical application of Digital Engineering, Systems of Systems, architecture modeling, analysis of complex systems, and decision support.

Responsibilities include:

  • You will use your keen understanding of Digital Engineering and an awareness of sponsor needs to determine areas where MITRE can have an impact.

  • Evaluating and comparing alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques; exploring large tradespaces

  • Analyze and evaluate existing Digital Engineering capabilities to determine future needs and identify areas in need of improvement.

  • Articulating major uncertainties associated with systems architectures, defining risks and opportunities associated with the uncertainties

  • Supporting requirements management, interface management and architecture change management processes

  • Translating analysis results into actionable recommendations for the US Government agencies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field

  • 10 + years of professional experience

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to possess and maintain DoD clearance

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success using data analytics to analyze and evaluate existing Digital Engineering capabilities.

  • Experience rendering objective evaluation of vendor products and approaches.

  • Interest in complex multi-disciplinary problems

  • Systems thinking

  • Project-based team work experience in a consulting environment

  • Ingenuity for applying a set of technical skills across multiple subject matter domains such as healthcare and defense

  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering Information Exchange (DEIX)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in related field of study

  • Candidates that possess a current/active US Government Secret clearance are preferred

  • Knowledge of systems architecture and systems design and development. Understanding of modern SE methods

  • Experience with multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation (physics-level, engineering-level and/or operational-level)
