Department Summary:
MITRE is seeking an experienced Finance Manager, IT Business Partner to serve as a financial and strategic business partner to MITRE’s Corporate Operations Enterprise IT function. This is a high visibility role that will have exposure to MITRE’s Executive Leadership Team members and will require strong communication skills as well as the ability to present complicated financial and technological concepts in a clear, concise manner to all levels of management. This Finance Manager, IT Business Partner will be expected to provide significant input in the decision-making process to leadership. A key attribute for the successful candidate will be the ability to understand current technologies (e.g. cloud, mobile, cybersecurity, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, etc.) and how their implementation/usage impacts cost structures. The candidate will be expected to be conversant on the latest technological trends and their potential impact on operations.
This role will be located in our McLean Virginia, or Bedford, Massachuesetts office with a hybrid work schedule.
The responsibilities of the job consist of:
Job Responsibilities:
Key financial and strategic business partner for MITRE’s Corporate Operations Enterprise IT function.
Ability to apply a broad range of analytical techniques to identify business issues, opportunities, and risks.
Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting of internal and external financial information.
Ability to use and apply a range of finance and business intelligence software products as part of the financial reporting requirements.
Ensure accurate processing and documentation of financial reporting/transactions to ensure established levels of quality and efficiency KPIs.
Ensure strong operating financial controls and adherence to FAR, CAS, and MITRE finance policies.
Support Business Transformation & Process Reengineering Efforts.
Working collaboratively across Mitre Finance organization including but not limited to Finance Leads and Finance Managers to converge on processes
Ability to translate clear concise content to non financial business leaders and ensure teams meet their financial goals.

Intellectually curious reflected in a continuous improvement mentality with the capacity to drive change and the desire to learn.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field (or equivalent in combined education and experience); Master’s degree preferred.
8+ years of finance and/or accounting experience, preferably some experience working as a Business Partner supporting an Information Technology business and budgets
Experience with Deltek Cost Point, and/or Cognos Analytics preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel preferred (i.e., Pivot tables, Core functions, and formulas)
Demonstrated strong business and financial acumen
Experience working as a business partner
Experience supporting executive level stakeholders
