MITRE is currently seeking a Government Compliance Senior Manager for our offices in McLean, VA. This role requires strong knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) / Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) / Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) / U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), extensive organizational skills, and the ability to prepare deliverables within deadlines. The Government Compliance Senior Manager will manage all compliance related activities including disclosure statements, incurred cost submissions, business systems, and other matters as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage effective relationships with the Corporate Administrative Contracting Officer (CACO), Defense Contract Administration Agency (DCAA), and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)

  • Become MITRE’s subject matter expert on CAS and FAR by ensuring proper application and interpretation throughout the organization, as well as monitoring changes to the guidance and contractual obligations

  • Ensure MITRE’s internal policies, business systems, and procedures are compliant with CAS and FAR regulations

  • Manage the preparation and submission of the annual disclosure statement, incurred cost submission, and any other necessary government filings

  • Responsible for ensuring all ad hoc Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits are managed appropriately

  • Oversee and support the research of ad-hoc government compliance interpretations and analysis of regulations as directed

  • Build strong relationships with internal customers to become a trusted business partner

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 12+ years of progressive government contracting compliance experience

  • Expert understanding of CAS, FAR, DFARS, and U.S. GAAP

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong executive presence

  • Ability to effectively plan, work well under pressure and deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills to resolve inquiries

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Innovative mind-set with ability to independently initiate and manage change

  • Exceptional organizational skills, prioritization skills, and attention to detail

  • Experience managing and developing staff of varying experience levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint

  • Familiarity with Federally Funded Research and Development Centers
