Oracle Head of Security in Bedford, Massachusetts

Manage people for product development programs or projects focused on the delivery of a product through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers.

Manage people for product development programs or projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers. Plan and direct resource schedules as well as project budgets. Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical matters. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Assists in the creation of division strategy and consults with senior management in providing direction to ensure growth and financial success. Ensures a consistent approach of organizational policies and procedures. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Successful track record in project management, product design or related experience needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

**

OCI’s VP of Security is an executive role that is responsible for driving the vision, technical direction and global delivery of key programs and automation to ensure the security of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. This is a strategic executive role, leading an organization of over 250 security engineers/analysts/program managers with ownership for the following security and platform components:

  • OCI Security Infrastructure Services, including Logging & SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Patching Services, Endpoint Protection Services, and Certificate Management Services.

  • OCI Security Engineering, including Offensive and Defensive Teams, Security Incident Response, and Security Infrastructure.

  • Partnering very closely with Compliance teams

  • In addition to owning these products and services, other responsibilities include:

  • Own the product vision, business strategy, and product roadmap for our Security Engineering and Infrastructure organization. Envision and communicate product strategy and roadmap/direction

  • Foster and maintain strong/positive relationships across other groups and teams within Oracle, including corporate security standards, corporate governance, security functions in other business units

  • Hold the Security Bar for all OCI Service teams, providing direction and enablement to enable seamless, transparent, and fully integrated cloud security.

  • Stay abreast of the latest innovations in the cloud security space and apply them as appropriate.

  • Lead by example, setting a clear culture of teamwork, high expectations, success and customer focus.

  • Recruit and retain the best technical talent for Cloud security.

  • Measure, analyze, track and report business, process and quality metrics to achieve targets while analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

This Vice President will have demonstrated experience in a cloud security role with demonstrated experience showcasing:

  • Depth of knowledge around security concepts and market/industry trends; Thorough understanding of security & software engineering processes, techniques and best practices.

  • Delivering large scale/cloud security solutions.

  • Being a customer champion and a very effective spokesperson and authority on security of the cloud.

  • Ability to lead a large organization to deliver and launch scalable solutions.

  • Leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of software engineering.

  • Ability to influence a diverse set of business and technology leaders including key executives, customers, industry analysts.

PREFERRED PERSONAL CHARACTERICTICS AND LEADERSHIP

EDUCATION

Advanced degree (Masters/equivalent) and relevant industry certifications are preferred.
