Software Developers are responsible for supportingthe development of prototype tools and services. ThisHealth IT Software Developer position iswithin MITRE’s Open Health Services department (OHS). In OHS weprioritize rapid prototyping and piloting of user-focusedsoftware, leaning forward with new technologies, following agiledevelopment practices, and sharing our work through open source. Wework in multi-disciplinary teams collaborating with clinicians, hospitaladministrators, health policy analysts, and public health experts. We work on awide variety of projects, with many opportunities to explore different avenuesand conduct research and development.
Key functions may include:
Developing open-sourceHealth IT software
Working within amulti-disciplinary team
Developing andimplementing Health IT standards
Analyzing health data
A developer should:
Have experience developing software applications
Have experience in Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) or strong interest in learning FHIR
Have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or have equivalent real-world experience
