MITRE’s Corporate IT Division is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead the planning and successful implementation of some of MITRE’s most critical corporate IT initiatives which enable MITRE’s Intelligent Enterprise Strategy. This exciting project management opportunity crosses multiple domains within the IT profession and involves collaboration across the corporate IT Division and with the greater MITRE community to ensure quality delivery of critical IT Projects. The Programs and Projects enabling MITRE’s Intelligent Enterprise Strategy represent large, complex, and rewarding technical project leadership with high visibility and potential across MITRE.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working in partnership with senior management to achieve corporate objectives by leading enterprise IT projects from initiation to successful delivery.

  • Partner with project sponsor and government COTR to define project objectives, scope, schedule, budget, project approval and contract management.

  • Lead geographically dispersed technical teams to ensure objectives are achieved within agreed schedule and budget.

  • Effectively identify and manage project risks and develop resolution strategy.

  • Develop and communicate project plans to effectively track project progress to technical teams, resource managers, and the Program Management Office.

  • Accelerate project delivery using Agile methodology and Agile task management tools such as Jira.

  • Support procurements including RFP development, vendor scoring criteria, vendor evaluations, and product selection.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

  • Bachelor of Science

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience leading enterprise IT projects

  • Certified PMP Project Manager

  • Technical background and knowledge of IT Infrastructure and/or software development

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

  • Experience developing and implemented project management best practice processes.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Effective problem-solving skills; ability to resolve conflicting situations.

  • Ability to think creatively and be driven by opportunities to continually improve.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including collaborating, influencing, and flexible team working

  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.

  • Must be highly flexible, organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, team building skills, and experience directing cross functional technical teams.

  • Experience with project documentation creation (project charters, project schedules, risk/issue identification and mitigation planning).

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence Senior Management including Executive level.

  • B.S., Computer Science, IT, Project Management, or equivalent experience
