Aspen Technology, Inc. Principal Technical Program Manager in Bedford, Massachusetts
This role will be for the Principal Technical Program Management Analyst for Products Program Management for supporting the entire product development life cycle, ensuring delivery of all product releases of all of AspenTech’s products. Must have the ability to adapt and quickly learn to execute according to theAspenTech PMO standards, processes, and governance structure.
This individual must be able to effectively manage change and coordinate across functions: Product Management, R&D, Quality, Marketing, Customer Support and Services. Must be able to coordinate with all groups to build detailed project schedules for all releases of AspenTech products from concept through delivery and ensuring that high quality products are delivered on time and that deliver business value. This person will create and maintain weekly updates of schedule progress for each project or program. This person will ensure effective execution of the Software Development Lifecycle, coordinating and facilitating milestone reviews, phase reviews, and CCB reviews. They will monitor adherence to quality metrics and standards and coordinate the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) process. Also responsible for establishing new and modified processes for the development of ApsenTech’s products. This position will be located in Bedford, MA.
In partnership with Product Management, R&D, Quality, Customer Support and Marketing, plan and manage product development projects across the entire software development life cycle from definition, requirements planning, budgeting, scheduling and development to release.
Plan and facilitate regular weekly project review meetings. Provide relevant and timely reporting, metrics and analysis through weekly updates of the Project Dashboard.
Establish and implement industry best practices in Agile SCRUM and SAFE standards, project management standards such as PMI, SEI, processes and tools.
Identify key risks and issues, develop risk mitigation plans, and provide early management updates, with appropriate escalations.
Coordinate risk management planning and tracking of risk mitigation efforts. Provide early management visibility and escalation of project risks and issues.
Coordinate the release planning process including definition of roadmap items, product requirements and use cases, while maintaining a balanced resource management plan.
Conduct readiness reviews for SDLC milestones and phases, ensuring effective execution of the SDLC process.
Coordinate and control scope changes through the change control process.
Coordinate the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) process.
Coordinate Release Retrospective Reviews to ensure continuous process improvement.
BS in Engineering or Computer Science required.
8+ years related experience in software development or related area
Experience with the entire software development life cycle (from project inception through release) is required.
Experience in developing detailed project schedules for complex software development projects with changing requirements, limited resources and fixed deadlines.
Experience developing and presenting software development plans, metrics, and progress reports.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment desirable
Excellent consultative, negotiating, listening, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Must work effectively in a matrix management structure, with strong abilities to influence and build support for process change initiatives.
