MITRE’s Data and Human-Centered Solutions Tech Center is a Corporate resource with technical capabilities in collaboration and social computing, data science, data management, integration and interoperability, geospatial analytic solutions, and social and behavioral sciences. We work across the breadth of MITRE’s government sponsors and stakeholders to provide data and human-centered solutions to our sponsor’s most critical mission challenges.

The Data Management, Integration & Interoperability Department will provide you with challenging opportunities to expand your experience and knowledge to solve our nation's most critical data problems. We are looking for highly motivated, adaptive, and enthusiastic candidates with a wide variety of interests and a foundation of skills in systems engineering, software engineering, information systems, or data management. You will join a department of data management practitioners that collectively have experience across many data management domains.

We are seeking candidates that have a strong interest in addressing and solving challenges related to capturing, managing, and sharing data supporting decision making and enabling mission processes. Working with experienced project teams and under the guidance of data management mentors, project tasks may include:

  • Supporting stakeholder interviews to determine requirements or gather data

  • Performing source-to-target data mappings

  • Documenting data transformation rules to meet the requirements for system interfaces and data integration projects

  • Performing hands-on data analysis to identify quality gaps and other insights

  • Researching and evaluating data management tools and technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience

  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD clearance

  • Strong problem-solving, system thinking, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Knowledge and experience across multiple data management domains such as: Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Quality, Data Analytics, Data Sharing, and Master Data Management.

  • Experience migrating or transitioning legacy customer solutions to new/modernized technical platforms.

  • Experience interfacing with and providing guidance through documents and briefings to varied audience levels including executives, program managers, analysts, administrators, and end users.

  • Experience with data and process analysis

  • Experience manipulating datasets with at least one modern programming language or business intelligence platform like Python, SAS, MATLAB, C++, R, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a Data Management related discipline

  • Interest in developing and applying data management domain skills to organizational, system, and data sharing related challenges and concerns

  • Experience with databases technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Neo4j)

  • Experience with cloud platforms and technologies such as: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Experience developing visualizations with multi-dimensional data using tools like Tableau, Qlik, or D3.js

  • Experience understanding and/or defining data requirements through Conceptual, Logical and/or Physical Data Modelling

  • Experience performing source to target data mapping

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$94,100 - $119,100 - $143,000
