MITRE’s Enterprise Computing, Information, and Security Center is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who has a solid understanding of PKI. This position is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a motivated technical candidate seeking to be part of a collaborative team that leverages automation to delivery infrastructure services for the organization.
This team is responsible for the entire internal virtualization, storage, and backup infrastructure at MITRE. This role will continue to grow in the direction of automation as we make our services, customer portals and internal delivery easier to provide and manage.
Initial responsibilities will focus on the day-to-day work-programs within our virtualization and Compute environments.
Primary responsibilities associated with this role are:
Support the definition, design, and deployment of enterprise PKI systems
Ensure PKI systems align to the firms Information Security policies, standards, and the industry best practices.
Manage the configuration of PKI systems, test PKI systems and/or components to ensure readiness for production deployment. Create and maintain system documentation.
Represent PKI Engineering on organizational project teams and ensure adherence to existing security policies and standards.
Manage the successful technical delivery of Information Security projects and services for our customers by working directly with key business stakeholders, executives and project teams. Security engineers are the technical lead on initiatives and as such must drive the vision and alignment of the solution delivery.
Develop and improve PKI/PKE best practices
Keep up on current technologies and maintain awareness of industry trends and threats, focusing on PKI/PKE technologies.
Public key infrastructure
Strong authentication / multi-factor authentication technologies
Day-to-day administration, troubleshooting, and project tasks relating, but not limited to;
Virtualization Infrastructure administration in multiple environments/locations
Citrix VDI infrastructure and application support
Solid program & project management skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
General network understanding
Experience writing code in PowerShell
Ability to work with a project team to ensure timely deliverable completion
Basic knowledge of Active Directory / LDAP
Basic knowledge of Networking (DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, CIDR Notation, etc.)
Basic knowledge of Virtualization and Physical / Virtual Hardware / Right Sizing
Use of PowerShell remoting to manage systems.
Security+ or equivalent certification
Federal Bridge Experience
Expert level experience in MS Certificate Management Services and Active Directory Domain Services.
Expert level experience in SSL certificate management concepts, processes, and solution management.
Expert level experience with PKI implementation and certificate lifecycle management solution
Expert level experience with hardware security module (HSM) technology. Direct experience with Safenet HSM platforms is highly desirable
Expert level experience in cloud solution development with Azure or AWS architectures as it related to PKI management.
Citrix VDI infrastructure and application support
Microsoft VDI technologies.
VMware vCenter and associated enterprise components including:
Microsoft virtualization products including
Configuration Management products tools
