Ocular Therapeutix, Inc Sr Project Manager - Pharma in Bedford, Massachusetts
A successful Project Manager/Sr Project Manager candidate will be accountable to support all the programs within our company portfolio. This individual will successfully lead a team to execute the plans against the project timelines, finances, and commitments. This individual will be responsible to communicate the project plans and learnings across the organization to drive further program development within clinical and R&D.
The candidate will be responsible for directing and mentoring a dynamic team (dotted line), on a wide spectrum of activities to better navigate the multi-faceted product development / clinical process and product management lifecycle. We also encourage our project managers to continue to optimize programs while leading cross functional teams through innovation to commercialization.
Project Managers will manage different aspects of our projects: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources.
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Communicating with executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
Establish governance on the project throughout development to maintain expected standards
Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs in order to meet budget
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Provide matrix management for all project teams
Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
Minimum seven years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills, extremely resourceful and ability to work efficiently on a team
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication, technical writing
Computer literacy, proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to make decisions and resolve issues with minimal guidance
Knowledge of FDA and international regulations and GxP guidelines
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
