How will you make an impact?

POROS Research and Development team is seeking an innovative scientist for development of key applications for chromatography resins and separations solutions for use in large scale biopurification processes. Ideal candidates should have strong protein purification, chromatography or HPLC experience with proficiency using multiple modes of chromatographic and filtration-based biomolecule separation, and strong analytical methods development experience (HPLC and non-HPLC). Previous experience in large scale purification process development and downstream purification workflow is essential.

What will you do?

  • Partner with field applications, commercial team, customers and business unit colleagues to maintain a prioritized list of key applications supporting on market and newly launched products

  • Collaborate with customers, strategic partners and internal teams on a deep technical level.

  • Research and maintain information related to competitive product performance and key competitive data, benchmarking and technical positioning

  • Develop project plans and execute bench experiments activities to generate key data packages for new applications content, product support and competitive benchmarking

  • Partner with marketing and product management using applications data to develop key proof statements, presentations and marketing literature to support technical sales process driving technical engagement with our customers

  • Coordinate with marketing, business and field applications to assist in training and roll out of the data and content to the global field staff to make sure that the value proposition of technical content is clear and consistently communicated

  • Research and perform hands-on evaluation of new technologies

How will you get here?

Education

  • BS or MS in Biochemistry or related fields with 5-10 years experience or PhD in biochemistry, protein purification or related field with 2-5 years of industry experience.

Experience

  • Experience related to biomolecule purification process development is a plus.

  • Chromatography and Protein purification by affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, HIC, filtration or other techniques is essential.

  • Non-chromatography assay development and execution experience is preferred (PCR, ELISA, gel electrophoresis etc.). Robotic instrumentation experience such as TECAN is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong hands on instrument, equipment and technology experience.

  • Self-motivated and able to pick up new techniques and new technologies quickly.

  • Detailed oriented for lab and documentation responsibilities.

  • Computer literate in use of Microsoft Office. Statistical software experience such as Minitab or JMP is preferred.

  • An understanding of ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 is preferred.
