MITRE’s Enterprise Computing, Information, and Security Center is seeking a senior Voice engineer. As MITRE continues to move more and more services to the Cloud, we are looking for a senior leader to lead our voice team, facilitate migrations in an agile and speedy process, coordinate integrations with MITRE’s back end business systems and maintain the collaboration capabilities that help MITRE tackle our nation’s toughest challenges.

Job Description

Our Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) services team is looking for a group leader. We are looking for technical leadership in voice, video and collaboration technologies with a specific concentration in conference and auditorium room design and management. The group leader will be responsible for all aspects of staff management, financial planning and technology.

Key Functions

  • Develop team capabilities through staff management and new talent building

  • Align with other service managers and group leads to promote service offerings and support the overall ECIS work program

  • Create and manage budgets

  • Assist in the development of roadmaps and technical vision

  • Primary POC for interfacing with senior leadership on their collaboration technology needs

Minimum Requirements

  • BS and 8 years related experience

  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of voice, video and data collaboration technologies

  • Conference, VTC and auditorium room design engineering, for both classified and unclassified spaces

  • VTC bridging technologies

  • Basic networking including Data Center and application layer networking

  • Knowledge of automation techniques for deployment of systems and services with tools such as Chef, Ansible, PowerShell and the Atlassian suite of tools

  • Project management skills including agile development techniques

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Self-organized and able to manage a team of 15

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco and/or Avaya voice platform experience

  • Polycom video platform experience

  • Cisco networking

  • AVIXA CTS certification
