ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

At Sensitech, we value a user-centric approach at all stages of our product lifecycle from conception through design, development, and customer experience. As part of the User Experience Team, the Business Analyst will assist in capturing, documenting, consolidating, and communicating requirements from stakeholders to the User Experience Design team and Engineering teams. The BA is an essential link between the business users providing the needs statements and the teams implementing a solution to meet those needs. The BA will also be involved in testing and reviews of the new features & functions to verify they have met the user requirement.

Sensitech develops enterprise software following an iterative process based on the agile development methodology. Within this iterative process, the BA Team collaborates with Product Management, User Experience Design, business stakeholders, Software Development, Software Quality Assurance, Deployment, and Localization teams to ensure the timely development of requirements and associated artifacts and the subsequent validation against initial requirements.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in requirements gathering activities, including interviews, document analysis, workshops, discussions, use case iteration, and other methods.

  • Identify and document project scope, goals, and deliverables to understand and communicate the boundaries of the business requirements.

  • Create requirements documentation according to established process, using standard templates and applying best practices proven at Sensitech for the development of requirements.

  • Consolidate and evaluate information and high-level requirements to reconcile conflicts and to distill into lower-level detailed requirements that support our iterative agile-based development process.

  • Create project records (epics, user stories) for software development and conduct an ongoing gap analysis to ensure all requirements defined for the scope of the project are included in these records.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers, internal and external stakeholders to analyze business and user needs and to scope and define new features and enhancements to the system

  • Participate in development projects to create, groom, and manage the backlog and to apply any updates to the documented requirements, use cases, or other artifacts specific to the project.

  • Provide support for the development and test teams during testing cycles

  • Maintain product requirements contained in the requirements repository system and compile product requirements reference documents using that content.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, Co-Op Students, and interns.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience and technical knowledge involving the planning and development of enterprise software applications and mobile applications

  • Build a deep understanding of business goals to help drive results. Challenge the goals when necessary to align with both business and user's needs.

  • Understand and empathize with end-user needs to solve customer problems

  • Develop, document, and promote documentation guidelines, best practices, and standards across projects in collaboration with the BA team members.

  • Collaboration is key… Must be skilled in leading requirements discussions to foster a collaborative approach to advising stakeholders, requirements collection, solution review, and ongoing feedback.

  • Perform out-of-the-box design thinking, collaborate with others, and make a difference every day!

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS or MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Analytics, Informatics, Food, Health Care Administration, Life Science, or Business

  • 3+ years Business Requirements writing experience required

  • General understanding of software development Processes

  • Expertise with Agile Lifecycle and SCRUM practices is a plus.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Etc.)

  • Experience using collaboration tools including Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, or similar software

  • Experience with User Experience research is a plus.

  • Self-starter and motivated to expand skill set and experience

  • Examples of written documentation will be requested as part of the interview process.

Location:

  • BA Team is based at our Sensitech Headquarters in Beverly, MA.

  • Flexibility for partial or full remote work arrangements will be considered.

  • During the Covid-19 Pandemic, flexibility for remote work is extended to all team members at the employee's discretion.

TRAVEL:

·Infrequent travel may be required
