General Electric Technical Requirements & Standards (TRS) Specialist in Billerica, Massachusetts

Role Summary:

Manage compliance tasks in support of the Technical Regulations and Standards team (TRS) in Billerica, MA. Support applications for Certifications, coordinate design changes with the Design Team, track product licensing requirements in SAP Global Trade System (GTS). Reports to an engineering manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Technical Requirements & Standards (TRS) Specialist, you will:

Support Product Certifications

  • Manage certification project details: purchase requisitions, contract revisions, project schedules. Maintain project files and build Technical Construction Files (TCF)

  • Track revision numbers of any documents used by Certification Agencies (control documents) to keep the business and the Certification Agency synchronized

  • Provide support as needed during external auditor visits under the direction of the quality departmentCoordinate Design Changes

  • Track design changes that are required by certification efforts

  • Identify the design engineer responsible for design changes, keep a list of required changes, track progress until they are closed outManage Global Trade System (GTS)

  • Coordinate with the Quality TRS team to track product requirements for targeted regions. Leverage new findings across all active products in that category

  • Manage Product / Region / Application requirements in GTS to clear production blocks

  • Maintain certification expiration dates and associated standards Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Experience with TRS or compliance testing

  • Familiarity with compliance standards in many geographic regions and impact on design requirements. Ability to link standards requirements to design details

  • Experience with EMC, environmental, and product safety test labs; report generation

  • Experience in Oil and Gas industry

  • Familiarity with the SAP ERP tool and GTS

  • Ability to work with highly analytical engineers and get to a clear conclusion

  • Strong organization and administrative skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point). Ability to generate reports, organize tasks, create pivot tables and charts, present data

  • Strong global communication skills. Requires clear telephonic communication with the U.S., Ireland, India, China, and other regions. Some travel may be required
