The Chief Enterprise Architect establishes system information requirements using and oversees the development of an enterprise-wide, large-scale information system. Determines and identifies high level functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the user community and knowledge of the enterprise architecture. Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting the functional and technical requirements including hardware and software updates or upgrades. Responsible for developing high level system design diagrams. Ensures systems compatibility and compliance with standards for open systems architectures, as they apply to the implementation and specification the solution of the application platform, across the application program interface (API), and the external environment/software application. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action. The Chief Enterprise Architect will join a team to include, engineers, technicians, system administrators and other skill sets, responsible for supporting all segments of an integrated system

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Serves in a trusted advisor capacity for customers in the area of Enterprise Architecture best practices.

• Possesses highly developed business analysis skills in consulting to identify business and technical requirements and formulates solutions to complex business problems.

• Provides technical leadership for solution development, guiding design/development activities and reviewing product deliverables for functional, performance and architectural conformance.

• Provides technical leadership to project teams in a fast-paced environment, to ensure successful project completion on time and within budget, while exceeding client expectations.

• Develops a deep understanding of the customer’s business and is able to dive deep into technology issues to align business goals and the IT infrastructure to achieve the goals of the customer around a service-oriented architecture (SOA) approach.

• May provide supervision and/or direction to staff

Education & Experience

• Typically BS or equivalent + 15-18 yrs. exp.

• Has full technical knowledge of all phases of IT network and systems engineering.

• Is a recognized expert.

• Good communication skills. Can effectively provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Can create effective and clear user manuals.

• Must be able to write and evaluate highly complex programs that contribute to effective hardware and software operating systems.

• Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work. May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications. Is able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering.

• ITIL V3 certification highly desired

• US Citizenship required.

Physical Requirements:

Position is virtual and is considered to take place in a business office environment. Position will require regular travel to address meetings with the business, IT team members, and external partners
