The CIO directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve service quality, cost effectiveness, and efficient delivery of applications to support our staff in providing high quality legal representation to marginalized clients. The CIO will be expected to continue implementing and improving upon current security protocols to protect staff and client data as well as vital internal systems using established and accepted best practices in the IT industry. The CIO also oversees the IT Department, which is comprised of 16 team members, including managers, direct support personnel, and application developers who support an internal staff of 700 employees across 19 work locations as well as external stakeholders across the Commonwealth. The CIO is a critical member of the Senior Management Team and reports directly to the Chief Counsel. *MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS Candidates must possess the following: * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; * At least ten (10) years of professional experience managing information systems and technology with increasing responsibilities and at least five (5) years of direct management and supervision experience in an IT environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and, * Access to a personal computer with home internet access sufficient to work remotely. A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Public Administration, or related field is preferred. Experience working directly in the public sector or serving primarily public sector clients is preferred.
