RedHat Client Impact Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Job summary

The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Client Impact Manager for the newly created Open Design Center (ODC) to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you will work as part of team that helps both the HR team as well as our internal customers transform the way they work by providing thought leadership on user experience, customer engagement, agile working, and customer-centric process and program design for solutions in the HR domain. We provide solutions, co-created with the customers, that are simple, impactful, and modular in nature. Working in an open way will ensure you maintain a breadth of ideas and to transfer knowledge as you work. In addition to solutions design, you will also help us provide thought leadership, tools, and consultation to others to help them think through their approach to design solutions and to help them optimize the way they work. As a Client Impact Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success and customer journey from the first consultation to the final implementation. Together with customer and HR team leaders, you will explore the issues to be tackled and define the outcomes desired in a consultative, holistic, and customer-centric way. Impact and user experience will be your guiding principles while ensuring that any future solutions will be valuable, affordable, and feasible. During the agile solutions development, you will see all parts of the solutions through from the customers’ perspectives and make sure that the customers are involved in and aligned with the process and outputs. Furthermore, you will support the design and creation with your customer expertise and connections. As the customer expert with deep insight and empathy for the customer journeys, you will lead the enablement and implementation of the solutions to the target audiences or organizations. Your and the ODC’s mission will be accomplished as soon as the customers are enabled to take over and apply the solutions sustainably. You do not have to reside in the U.S. to apply to this role, but you should ideally be located in a time zone that will allow you to connect with key stakeholders.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a process expert, using your design thinking skills, familiarity with and experience applying agile methods, and systemic thinking

  • Make an impact by doing customer-centric work and applying your customer focus; you should also want to build something by yourself and be proactive

  • Show your ability to work in ambiguity, meaning with new customers, on new topics, without given solutions and approaches, and in very complex scenarios

  • Show up as the connector in a fully matrixed environment, demonstrating your solid persuasion and relationship building skills

  • Become an innovator on a functional or even company level on greenfield projects and innovations by applying creative thinking and delivery methods

  • Own the customer journeys through the entire ODC project life cycle from the first conversations on issues to the implementation of the solutions

  • Articulate and qualify customer issues, root causes, and problem and solution statements for complex and systemic challenges

  • Apply multi-perspective and holistic analyses and consulting in order to explore innovative opportunities

  • Serve as a voice of the customer (VOC) throughout the entire ODC process

  • Ensure positive user experience with the process as well as the solutions

  • Lead the contracting with customers and partners by jointly clarifying scope, outcomes, and resourcing of projects

  • Coordinate and manage the implementation process of solutions through change management and enablement in close collaboration with customer leaders and associates

  • Prepare customers to manage and guide the solutions sustainably

Required skills

  • Extraordinary business consulting skills on an executive level

  • Solid problem analysis skills and the ability to deconstruct complex issues, scenarios, and stakeholder landscapes

  • Exceptional customer-facing experience in a partnering function with a proven record of positioning oneself on an equal level with senior business leaders

  • Experience and familiarity with Red Hat’s ecosystems, functions, and executives

  • Proven leadership experience in change management, including change impact analysis, stakeholder engagement, target audience enablement, etc.

  • Successful mid to large-scale project implementations with proven impact on customers

  • Deep business insight and systemic understanding of large organizations and their dynamics

  • Demonstrated impact in complex initiatives inside and outside the HR team

  • Excellent executive presence and persuasion skills that can inspire confidence through excellent written and verbal communications
