As a member of the Infrastructure Services department, the Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect will assume a lead role in all facets of the Bank’s infrastructure and cloud strategy with a focus on the overall effectiveness of these platform’s operational management. This role requires a multi-technology proficient professional who is a highly collaborative team player. Additionally, this incumbent must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and serve as the SME for all realms within the technology environment.
Reporting to the AVP, Infrastructure Services, this role will be responsible for understanding complex business technology needs specifically within the enterprise infrastructure and cloud aspects of our technology portfolio and will research, design, recommend and deliver technical solutions. This position requires knowledge and expertise with various operating systems, software systems, hardware and network configurations located within our co-located data center as well as in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud primarily and Microsoft Azure secondarily. The Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect will partner with various departments, including Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Application Support, Development and QA by addressing strategic planning and technical issues.
This position is classified as sensitive and is subject to a sensitive position background investigation.
Champion the Bank’s infrastructure strategy by evaluating business strategies, researching infrastructure and Cloud best practices, conducting assessments, identifying integration issues, preparing cost estimates and acting as the architect/consultant on project initiatives.
Work cross functionally and collaboratively across Bank Technology teams to guide the infrastructure design and implementation aligning with industry best practices developing design documents and artifacts that enforce architectural consistency across solutions.
Responsible for providing advanced engineering support, possibly “hands-on”, to production/project support teams for complex infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders to generate buy-in and confidence around strategies and implementations.
Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and moving infrastructure to the Cloud and establishing the processes and procedures around these elements, inclusive of developing and implementing migration strategies.

Solid infrastructure architecture background with experience in virtualization/cloud technologies inclusive of Amazon Web Services’ Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and a fundamental familiarity of Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.
Intermediate/advanced knowledge of systems infrastructure with deep domain expertise in areas such as Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, networking, storage, high availability, cloud strategy/management, performance tuning, etc.
Infrastructure automation methodologies leveraging scripting and continuous development solutions such as Jenkins and GitHub.
A high level of responsiveness to the customer to build trust and credibility.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to communicate and interact effectively with all staffing levels, adapting communication and presentation style for audiences ranging from non-technical to highly technical.
Must be a self-starter with excellent planning and organizational skills and have the ability to exercise independent judgment while participating in various complex and sometimes concurrent projects from inception through completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or comparable professional experience is required.
7-10 years experience in an Infrastructure consulting, senior engineering, or architecture role inclusive of hands on design and implementation individually and as part of a project team.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges.
Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Leading design and implementation of HA and fault-tolerant enterprise infrastructure deployments.
Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting such as Python and Powershell.
Deep experience in Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, storage technologies, virtualization, AWS Cloud, O365 and network topologies.
Exposure to regulated industries such as finance and/or healthcare regarding compliance, controls and risk management preferred.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft MCSE- Cloud Platform and Infrastructure preferred.
