What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

You will manage a global network of committed colleagues to provide insights and adoption across the company, playing a highly influential role in evolving the experience of working at VMware.

As the Collaboration Network Manager, you will partner with peers in the Colleague Experience and Technology organization, Communities, and HR to build the structure and operational rhythm of a new global network.

You will be responsible for using the network structure and operational model to recruit, enable, and provide ongoing facilitation for what will quickly become an active, inclusive community of colleagues selected and organized as a well-connected network to engage bidirectionally with CET/IT as they represent their organization/peers on business needs, tools, training, early adoption, and overall experience.

You will collaborate with owners of feedback loops to consider new ways to evaluate success and identify opportunities to evolve, using an advocacy and inquiry model and/or retros as you partner with product and service owners to turn feedback into action.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Finalize the design and engagement plan and collateral to communicate benefits of membership to VMware and to members, themselves Conduct membership analysis with HR & local leaders to build an inclusive, diverse network Recruit and select members, survey for early work practice insights Organize regional kick-off sessions on expected roles, responsibilities, and opportunities Select timely technology updates to feature and build feedback loop Partner with regional online communities for continuous engagement

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

You will use your master networking and facilitation skills to listen and learn from Collaboration Network members and partner with stakeholders across VMware in delivering solutions that delight colleagues.

In managing the global collaboration network, you will lead monthly meetings to connect with network leaders, hear their feedback and success stories from the last meeting, coordinate with product owners to bring new technology solutions for discussion, pre-view templates and meeting-in-a-box content, and set the agenda for large and small network engagement.

You will:

  • Work with IT product teams to engage the collaboration network whenever possible in planning, designing, deploying, and supporting digital technology tools

  • Deliver demos and training to network members, facilitate polling and surveys for their impressions, continuously receive insights on what’s working and what colleagues have to say

  • Follow-up on expected actions and track bi-directional achievements

  • Celebrate success and recognize all contributors in the effort, not just those who get things across the finish line

  • Host leadership discussions with technical advisors to keep current on roadmaps and execution plans to ensure network goals and activities are both timely and align with strategy

  • Measure attendance and engagement and harvest relevant topics from network members

  • Assess network effectiveness and work with network members to remove barriers, close gaps and/or manage process changes

  • Create a process to manage membership changes and continuous onboarding

  • Stay curious: spend time learning VMware’s collaboration products and extending your professional skills

Her expertise in people-centered change and leadership has been built over 25 years in technology, from the front lines in desktop, server, and hosted email administration to enterprise helpdesk management, mergers and acquisitions program management, global services communications, projects and operations. She enjoys traveling and photography and is also a Gallup Strengths coach who loves helping people do their best work and achieve their career goals. The globally distributed team is highly collaborative, can work from anywhere; they’re connected and resourceful, being composed of nine experts in product and services analysis and enablement.
