Plymouth Rock Assurance Communications Associate in Boston, Massachusetts

Plymouth Rock is a rapidly growing personal lines insurance company, with operations spanning throughout six states and corporate headquarters located in Downtown Boston. The Agency Communications Team is seeking a highly motivated Communications Associate to join our growing marketing team.

As the Communications Associate, you will own the end-to-end process for projects led by the Agency Communications Team. The Communications Associate will be responsible for managing all inbound requests, as well as the team project backlog and email inbox. This person will serve as the project owner and will manage the relationships between the Agency Communications team and various stakeholders throughout the organization.

The candidate will lead the team through project phases, designate resources, partner with the creative team, monitor progress and keep all stakeholders informed throughout the project. Projects include creation and coordination of various marketing materials, email copy, webinar support, events, social content and other one-off projects. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills and extensive experience in managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

As a part of the Agency Communications Team, you will be responsible for understanding the needs of the business and the tools required for agents to competitively sell our products. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects end-to-end, including regular communication with internal/external stakeholders

  • Develop and own the detailed project backlog and define project scope/objectives

  • Lead projects for the creation of marketing materials including: email copy, FAQs, sell sheets, brochures, fact sheets, etc.

  • Predict resources needed to effectively reach objectives and provide project updates on a consistent basis regarding strategy and progress

  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

  • Measure project performance to proactively identify areas for improvement

  • Develop the team communication style-guide to establish the tone of voice and messaging style for Agency Communications

  • Manage and optimize the existing Email Newsletter that is shared across the Independent Agent organization

  • Responsibilities include owning and maintaining the team email inbox, and the team content calendar, including ownership/maintenance of the Agent Facebook Group

  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by communicating expected deliverables

  • Review and approve final test emails launching from Salesforce

Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the insurance or financial services industry

  • A strong background in effective project management

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful

  • Familiarity with analyzing data to derive insights to improve engagement

  • Proven ability to proactively problem solve

  • Exceptional writing skills with familiarity writing creative briefs, email copy or insurance-related materials

  • Organized with strong multi-tasking skills and impeccable attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Reader.

  • Insurance industry experience working with Field or Independent Agents OR familiarity with insurance products a plus

  • Thorough understanding of AP Style a plus
