IBM Cyber Threat Intelligence Researcher - CISO in Boston, Massachusetts

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for analyzing the socio-economic aspects of malicious cyber activity. This position requires the analysis of artifacts and methodologies of threat actors for determination of impact and severity to the environment. Activities include monitoring of web resources and threat feeds as well as incident response data and malicious code analysis.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to requests for ad-hoc reporting and research topics from management as required.

  • Work with various intelligence collection and reporting tools and frameworks to produce reports

  • Develop and refine cyber-threat intelligence collection and analysis processes

  • Produce detailed intelligence analysis reports on cyber-threats and convey potential impact

  • Present relevant findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Issue advisories on critical threats and vulnerabilities

  • Develop capabilities to enhance cyber-threat intelligence capabilities

  • Support detection and Incident Response teams with context and analysis support

  • Provide expertise and recommend relevant remediation and countermeasures

  • Develop in-house tools to assist with collection and analysis of intelligence information

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in standards of intelligence collection and analysis research methods

  • Understanding of external factors and the security

  • Familiarity with cyber-threats, mitigations, motivations and techniques

  • Experience with intelligence analysis tools, methods and the intelligence life-cycle

  • Experience distilling raw data into actionable intelligence information

  • Generating defensible analytical products and coherent visualized data

  • Prepare and present research findings

  • Experience with open, deep and dark web

  • Security risk mitigation methods and compensating controls

  • Knowledge of malicious code and technical vulnerabilities

  • Knowledge of databases, query design, and how to analyze data

  • Tracking and reporting on cyber-espionage, cyber-crime, and other malicious threat actors

  • Experience performing security assessments and detecting forensic artifacts

  • Experience with EDR platforms and how they operate

  • Familiarity with automation concepts and scripting languages

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor's Degree or higher in the field of Computer Science or Information Security or related field (may be substituted for experience and industry certifications)

5 or more years experience in one or combination of the following cyber-security functions:

Cyber Threat Intelligence

System Administration

Intrusion Detection/Prevention Monitoring

Incident Response

Digital Forensics

Vulnerability Management

Individual technical Cyber Security Certification through one of the recognized bodies

Possible certifications: ISACA, (ICS)2, GIAC, etc.

Foreign language proficiency is a plus
