Compensation Minimum:$126,800 Annual
Compensation Maximum:$222,100 Annual
This is a management role leading a team of cloud data engineers.
This is a team of BUILDERS--all cloud data engineering, end-to-end from concept to implementation and deployment. Skill set includes: AWS and GCP with strong emphasis on fundamentals (Python, OOP coding practices, SQL, Big Data, data engineering, need to be a strong coder). "Full-stack" sensibility is a big plus as employees take responsibility for multiple layers of a solution. The team has a well documented training path, constant communication and mutual support. Engineers will learn architecture over time.
Job Family Summary
Responsible for data engineering strategy, standards and practices to ensure consistent high-quality data solution delivery across product center of excellences and shared services at the enterprise level. Leads the enterprise data engineering center of excellence discipline to establish patterns on cutting edge technologies to evolve data and analytical capabilities. Aligns the data engineering execution roadmap with enterprise data initiatives.
Accountable for the translation and execution of the data strategy as the data engineering center of excellence for data ingestion and transformation, data integration and management, business analytics and other business intelligence solutions that support the company in improving its data driven decision making capabilities. Leads the development of data architecture to support the launch of cutting-edge products in tandem with product managers, data scientists, engineers and Business/IT leaders across the organization.

Lead architectural planning, design, development, deployment, and management of analytical environments capable of ingesting, processing, and analyzing large, diverse data sets containing structured and unstructured elements.
Leads the facilitation, ingestion, transformation, and processing of data.
Establishes and federates the standards and processes for the effective governance, quality, integrity, and timeliness of all data accessed, ingested and exported within the infrastructural systems.
Accountable for the definition and planning of analytical projects to solve complex business problems as the key technical resource in the areas of data processing and scalable analytical and computational platforms.
Maximize the predictability, efficiency, effectiveness, and maintainability of data science-related infrastructure elements with a focus on analytical compute environments.
Develop and manage the processes, controls, and technical solutions necessary for an effective data engineering function.
Collaborate with Data Science, Business Intelligence, Business and Technology teams to define success metrics and develop/refine the roadmap.
Develop means for automating data- and analytics-related systems and processes, as appropriate, to support data science activities.
Leads the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of technologies within the unit.
- This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Advanced knowledge and experience using a variety of programming languages to implement and operate real time and batch data processing and enable data science and analytics (e.g., Scala, Python, Java, R, C/C++).
Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex technical projects involving parallel or distributed computing, including Apache Stack (Spark, Storm, Kafka, etc.), and related technologies such as CI/CD automation, Micro-service architecture.
Demonstrated experience working across a broad range of information technology domains, including application, data, infrastructure, and security with specific expertise in design, development, and deployment of data- and analytics-related platforms and tools.
Demonstrated experience working with or on a Data Science team and familiarity with data mining and machine learning techniques.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of data management strategies and roadmaps as well as data architectural design models.
Familiarity with a wide variety of data formats and processing methodologies.
Familiarity with relational database design and SQL scripting.
Strong willingness to adapt, pivot, and learn as needed to address emerging opportunities and challenges.

This position is a hybrid role that involves working a minimum of 10 days per month in the office.
