Position Impact on the Organization

The Data Systems Specialist will be responsible for implementing key evaluation technology platforms under the supervision of BELL’s Senior Director, Evaluation during the summer of 2018. This role is critical to BELL’s ability to demonstrate impact for the scholars, families, and teachers. The Specialist collaborates with Product Implementation colleagues in implementing and supporting key evaluation data systems around scholar assessment, quality assurance, and survey research. This role is expected to be virtual. The Specialist reports to the Senior Director, Evaluation and Evaluation Manager and manages assigned projects and activities.

Your Accountabilities

Accountable for implementing BELL’s key evaluation technology platforms during BELL’s 2018 summer program, the Specialist manages and supports data systems needed to tell the story of BELL’s implementation and impact. His/her performance targets focus on use of key evaluation technology platforms to demonstrate outcomes and impact. Specific accountabilities include:

  • Lead implementation and management of key assessment and evaluation technology platforms across the organization, such as STAR, Salesforce, SurveyMonkey and others

  • Collaborate to implement evaluation tools, such as surveys and rubrics

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization, including Product Development, Implementation, and Business Development, to understand and implement evaluation needs

  • Collaborate with external data systems vendors as needed

  • Demonstrate strong cultural stewardship within the Learning & Innovation Team—translating BELL’s mission and strategic goals into your work

More Details

As the pivotal role in BELL’s evaluation approach, at least 1+ years of experience in the evaluation field is preferred. Including:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Strong preference is given to candidates with degrees in Education or Information Systems.

  • 1-3 years of professional experience preferred

  • Strong technology skills and experience with online systems management (such as Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Box.com, etc.).

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze data

  • Customer service experienced

  • Exceptional time management and communication skills.

  • Experience adapting and translating evidence into impact stories and results

This position is presently a temporary part-time hourly position which will begin in May and will conclude in August 2018. This position does have the potential to become a full-time role for the candidate who can best demonstrate the value of the function to the organization.
