Deloitte Deloitte Foundation - Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Programs in Boston, Massachusetts


This position will support strategic initiatives and programs of the Deloitte Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of Deloitte dedicated to accelerating innovation, excellence and equity in education in the United States. The Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Programs will provide cross-cutting support for the Deloitte Foundation team in planning and executing high-quality intentional strategic grant-making initiatives as well as student/faculty programs to further the Deloitte Foundation's education plus equity mission. A high degree of attention to detail, organization, flexibility, teaming, ability to handle changing priorities, as well as confidence working with multiple internal/external stakeholders are required.

What you will do:

  • Support the planning and delivery of strategic initiatives and student/faculty programs

  • Develop and maintain key documentation to support the implementation of various components of the Foundation's strategy (i.e., scorecards, primers, trackers, project plans)

  • Evaluate grant proposals

  • Vet proposals/programs/communications with risk, TPRM, OGC, LCSPs, LUPs, etc.

  • Draft grant and university agreements

  • Create grant/program impact surveys and analyze results

  • Review external solicitations and respond to requests for funding

  • Liaise with faculty and other university officials as well as not-for-profit grantee representatives

  • Research emerging opportunities for new bold play investments

  • Conduct benchmarking research and other responsibilities as needed

  • Assist in engaging internal stakeholders across Deloitte businesses and functions to enable strategy alignment, information-sharing, data collection and reporting and structured investment decision-making in support of cross-cutting collaboration (i.e., Talent, Purpose, MADE, etc.)

  • Configure and update Foundation websites and other key communication tools

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Great attention to detail

  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Balanced ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-faceted virtual team working in a fast-paced dynamic environment


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or other disciplines relevant to professional services (graduate degree preferred)

  • Minimum of six years of client service, foundation, nonprofit, higher education, talent and/or university relations experience

  • Minimum of three years Deloitte experience is desired; Consulting background preferred

  • Track record of strong project management

  • Proven competency in logical structuring and analytical thinking

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of secondary and higher education industry

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $74,230 to $144,695.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
