CVS Health Design Program Manager, Tools & Infrastructure in Boston, Massachusetts
CVS Health Digital is looking for the right individual to be key member of its growing Design department and to own tools and organization within the Design Operations team. This person will be part of a small team that owns the tools and standards for how designers create and share files and assets, among other things.
With another Design Program Manager, own the tool set that Product Design uses to collaborate, create content, and document work. This includes administration and support.
Manage procurement, governance, versioning, naming conventions, and process around these tools.
Inventory existing tools and provide guidelines for the team’s use of those tools for design work.
Improve and support team onboarding activities to welcome and bring new team members into product design, introducing them to tools, assets, processes, and more.
Discover, evaluate inform the team of new trends and tech. Find and introduce new tools to the team through the enterprise procurement process. Perform cost-benefit analysis and complete business cases around software needs.
Create processes or automation that intersect workflow with tooling such as version control, continuous integration, and design systems.
Help define, document, and refine tool use and process for the various groups within Design to enable them deliver in more efficient & consistent ways. Collaborate with partner organizations such as architecture and engineering to create scalable best practices.
Support the design team’s implementation of design language systems, supporting the integration of design system assets and libraries.
Continuously seek out ways to improve process and capabilities of a multi discipline creative team.
Be agile in prioritizing work, managing flexible roadmaps and plans that adapt to the changing needs of the design organization. The scope of work will change and evolve as standards are put in place and new needs and programs emerge.
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in a design or product management capacity
Experience working within a large design team or organization.
Strong understanding of software design.
A strong understanding of the value of the "right" amount of process.
Strong attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Deep familiarity with design software (such as: Sketch, Invision, Figma)
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Strong project management skills
3+ years working in software development
3+ years working with agile methods
Familiarity with basic git workflows (forking, pushes, pulls, commits, and merges) helpful
Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in design or related field preferred.
