IBM Digital Developer Advocate in Boston, Massachusetts
The Digital Developer Advocate is responsible for scaling and increasing the effectiveness and delivery of digital offerings and content to increase client developer engagement, consumption and activation to meet organizational targets.
Primary responsibilities include creating effective digital assets to engage and activate developers in Integrated Accounts, Enterprise and Commercial clients to increase consumption of IBM platforms and offerings, while delivering a unique and engaging learning experience.
A major component is taking existing digital assets and converting into formats that are self-service, and can be consumed as part of a webinars, lunch and learns, and on-line workshops with learning and hands-on labs. All digital content will need to be created in IBM Coder ( https://ibmcoders.influitive.com/ ) as part of an “Experience.” Each experience within IBM Coder will contain any number of individual components called challenges, they can be informational using text or social - to communicate basics about a specific program or technology, FAQs, or guidelines. Another format is video to convey information about a certain educational topic using a Code Pattern or there can be coding challenges that brings the user step by step through how to do something, like creating and publishing APIs using API Connect, setting up a Blockchain network, etc. At the end of each challenge within the experience, there needs to be verification to assure retention of the topic. This can be done through asking a question or two, validating output from an application or sending out a tweet. Requests for content will be generated both internally and directly from interactions with clients.
In addition to creating experiences and challenges in IBM Coder, it’s necessary to develop marketing and social materials to help promote the content either to be used by IBM to promote a digital event or by a client to promote a digital event internally, or both. Examples are e-mail communications or social media tiles for Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Involvement in outreach, nurture and measurement of success is required.
Ideal candidate will also serve as Admin for IBM Coder with responsibilities to support implementation, launch and ongoing maintenance of customized/private IBM Coders for enterprise clients. Tasks include serving as an administrator, establishing private client instances of IBM Coder, creating user access groups, creating new challenges within experiences, leading nurture/education efforts, running utilization reports, developing collateral to promote new content, and developing KPIs/success metrics for each client implementation. Participation in client meetings and workshops is expected, along with handling issues related to account management, access, service uptime assurance and overall day to day management of the Coder platform. Results need to show client value towards active developer targets and skill progression through challenges.
Other responsibilities include the development of an end to end dashboard to showcase digital channel outreach, nurture, client engagement, developer activation from private portals and events. The creation of a weekly Newsletter highlighting wins and team contribution for up-line consumption within DBG and for socializing with other Business Units. Need to create and maintain Sales enablement collateral, with an emphasis on compelling client success stories/wins and role play scenarios specific to Sales plays. Also, work to ensure that IBM Coder digital assets are accessible/cross-referenced or components of other BU digital repositories such as DTE, ZACS, CSA, Engage, Sales Plays, etc.
