The Role

The Corporate Application and Platform team is part of Lumen Strategic planning and transformation organization. As part of the Corporate Application and Platform Leadership Team, the Director managing our SAFe Agile processes has full and global responsibility for all aspects of agile processes within the Corporate Services Value Stream. This team includes solution train engineer and release train engineers supporting Corporate Services ARTs. Corporate Services includes HR, legal, real estate, billing, finance and accounting, supply chain, revenue assurance, payroll, SAP basis and security functions. The Director ensures the Corporate services value stream is operating efficiently and delivering value. They drive initiatives to improve the throughput of the teams and ensure optimal value is achieved. They will oversee and guide a team of leaders to effectively deliver SAFe Agile strategy, processes and outcomes.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead Corporate Services quarterly PI planning events

  • Eliminate impediments working with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end value

  • Mange STE and RTEs and assist them with career development

  • Lead change across IT and the business as SAFe processes are improved

  • Provide coaching for agile teams involved with Corporate Services

  • Staying abreast of future development process trends that could improve SAFe implemented processes

  • Engaged with key business stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their perspective and what they need to be successful

  • Work with IT and business leadership to influence their thinking and ensuring all key IT and business are engaged and partnering effectively and regularly with the Agile process

  • Staying well connected on a daily basis with current PI and future PI activities ensuring the team has what they need to overcome issues quickly and successfully

  • Building a culture of excellence, urgency and focus on customer in every aspect delivery

  • Taking the lead to work through conflict situations that reach an executive level

  • Developing a culture of continuous improvement in people, process and technology built around the Strategic Planning and Transformation XLR8 agile framework

  • Develop annual goals that are aligned to company and business goals that ensure we’re focused on continuous improvement and business value

  • Ensure the team is motivated, engaged and working towards positive business and customer outcomes

  • Ensuring we’re effectively managing the business change management in the delivery of our Corporate Services programs

What We Look For in a Candidate

Experience :

Ten years of professional experience managing and leading IT teams in large global enterprises

Experience leading large matrixed programs

Experience with SAFe agile is a must

Experience being responsible for overall external partner and vendor relationships

Experience in setting vision and direction and gaining executive alignment with the strategy

Experience in leading and guiding a team that is balanced from a skills and diversity perspective

Experience in implementing a culture change and transformation of teams

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

Embody executive presence and must have observable influencing skills

Demonstrate solid understanding of business needs to drive the ability to lead the design, build and continuous business support of the ERP solution to meet strategic business objectives

Ability to problem solve and work effectively in complex, ambiguous situations

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills

Strong interpersonal and excellent presentation skills are a must

Demonstrate excellent problem solving, negotiating, conflict management and decision-making skills

Operate consistently with a sense of urgency and a ‘can-do’ attitude

Proven track record of driving productivity while maintaining or increasing quality

Proven track record of overseeing the successful implementation of large scale ERP programs

Strong business process knowledge required – Quote-To-Cash, Procure-To-Pay, Supply Chain, Finance

Good exposure to Agile/SCRUM development

Good knowledge of financial principals and processes

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
