Commonwealth Care Alliance Director, Business Intelligence in Boston, Massachusetts
CCA is looking a for seasoned, business intelligence change agent. The Director will work closely with new BI leadership to engage with the business to support CCA's data-driven decision making.

Business Intelligence (BI) provides key decision support to CCA executives and leadership. The BI department is led by the Senior Vice President, Business Intelligence and managed through a matrix-management environment. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with many team members to bring actionable data and insights into the broader organization.
Reporting to the Vice President of Business Intelligence, this role will manage a team of Business Intelligence Advisors, providing oversight to work product and coaching of individual team members.
Business Intelligence is the gateway to data-driven decisions and this role will help us build the evidence and rationale for important organizational programs.
This Director of Business Intelligence position will lead our Population Analytics team. The primary role of the Population Analytics team is to support CCA in developing and implementing clinical population-based programs to improve members health outcomes. A strong candidate for this role would be one with ability to connect clinical programs with data and analysis, develop and analyze different cohorts, and understand the impact that social determinants of health has on members health care utilization patterns and outcomes.
Provides leadership in the analysis and business intelligence that support organizational data-driven decision-making
Reviews and coach individual team members to ensure they are fulfilling their job requirements and given the opportunity to grow within CCA
Acts as a data product owner translating business needs into data projects and data projects into business implications
Partners with internal clients to identify opportunities to implement data solutions to business problems
Reviews data requests, working with the business to clearly define the business problem and project goal, asses the required resources and time, and assign to appropriate staff members
Promotes data storytelling abilities of summarizing and analyzing points of analysis and effective visualization techniques through use of BI delivery platforms
Trains users on the BI tools and achieve active usage of those tools
Oversees the design of end-user reporting tools and systems

Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of experience in health insurance industry
3-5 years of leading teams of people
Background in health care analytics or business intelligence
Experience working in a Matrix-Managed environment
Strong programming language skills (SQL & SAS)
Strong project management experience
Strong ability to communicate business and technical information to people of various backgrounds
Expert knowledge of care management and healthcare industry practices
Expert analytical and problem-solving skills
Initiative, work ethic, ambition, and an appetite for challenging and often unstructured assignments.
