KPMG is currently seeking a Director in Risk Compliance - Forensics for our Consulting (https://advisory.kpmg.us/) practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and support clients by delivering end-to-end legal operations transformation services projects, with an emphasis on improving processes in legal departments/law firms, addressing legal technology needs and driving change management for lawyers

  • Supervise team members, including managing resource allocation, client workflows and task-based requirements for legal operations transformation projects

  • Maintain regular contact with and manage expectations of clients to help ensure client satisfaction and report project progress as necessary, both internally and externally

  • Provide presentations and demonstrations regarding KPMG's Legal Operations Transformation Services solution to prospective clients

  • Participate in new business development initiatives and build/maintain a network within the legal operations field

  • Participate in Legal Operations Transformation Services marketing and thought leadership initiatives, including developing and distributing content to clients and prospective clients

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years or recent experience in leading/working in legal operations in a large, complex legal department or large law firm

  • J.D., M.B.A., or other advanced degree preferred, consulting experience a plus

  • Experience with legal technology, including (i) designing, implementing and tailoring legal technology in legal functions, including matter management systems, contract lifecycle management systems, e-billing systems, document management systems, knowledge management systems, collaboration platforms; and (ii) driving legal technology adoption/change management among lawyers and legal teams

  • Experience with legal process optimization, including (i) analyzing, designing and improving processes and workflows in legal departments and integrating those processes and workflows effectively with technology; (ii) utilizing data & analytics in legal department operations; (iii) optimizing outside counsel management, spend analytics, and (iv) managing internal counsel

  • Experience working with other business functions that regularly support and/or interact with legal, such as IT, compliance, procurement, risk and the like

  • Superior communications skills; excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; excellent project management skills; exceptional client service and follow-up skills

  • Travel requirements may vary; up to 25% travel required, depending on needs of clients
