What You Will Do :

Guidehouse’s Customer & Citizen Engagement Solutions team works to deliver the next generation of customer solutions to our clients and their customers. We support companies across the energy sector as they envision and prepare for this future by combining our market knowledge, proprietary modeling, and deep technical skills with strategic perspectives on future program needs. The Director’s role focuses on developing new rate and regulatory solution offerings that complement our existing rate and regulatory capabilities, working with the client account teams to develop business opportunities, and leading project delivery teams in assisting clients to operationalize their customer strategy and effectively communicate about their progress.

Responsible for this role will include but not limited to:

  • Developing and managing a growing team working across the lifecycle of the rate and regulatory process, including investigations, within the energy industry.

  • Managing multiple client and prospect client accounts by:

  • Engaging with Guidehouse account relationship managers to define key priorities and needs

  • Define a compelling value proposition aligned with the client’s needs.

  • Growing our portfolio of clients by nurturing those that are developing and evaluating new customer programs. Specifically, developing and delivering content to support rate cases and rate case proceedings, regulatory investigations, and program cost recovery processes

  • Overseeing successful consulting engagements by:

  • Guiding multiple and/or complex consulting engagements.

  • Bringing in innovative ideas and using solid judgement to understand which ideas will have the greatest likelihood of success.

  • Being an effective part of the local team while engaging with global teams and networks for subject matter experts.

  • Playing a key role in the design and execution of a portfolio of rate and regulatory tools and products across sustainability and communication in the energy industry.

  • Mentoring and managing junior staff.

What You Will Need :

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on economics, accounting, business, technology, engineering, or mathematics

  • 10+ years of professional working experience in power utilities or utility consulting organizations

  • Demonstrated account and / or solution leadership experience with USA utility clients.

  • Strong demonstrated business development experience.

  • Familiarity with accounting practices and regulatory processes utilized by energy providers.

  • Proposal writing experience including budget development and managing proposal timeline with multiple subject matter experts providing input

  • Strong communication, writing and presentation skills

  • A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative in problem solving

  • A team-player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels

  • Ability to work fluently in English (written and spoken)

  • Ability to travel

  • Due to nature of client engagements, US Citizenship restrictions apply

  • Currently reside in the United States

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • MBA

  • CPA

  • In addition to English, ability to speak other languages at a business level proficiency

The annual salary range for this position is $158,200.00-$348,100.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
