Eaton Vance Director of Operations and Technology in Boston, Massachusetts

Basic Purpose:

The Director of Operations and Technology will oversee day-to-day technology solutions and investment operations in place to support the firm and will facilitate growth initiatives for WaterOak. The position will be responsible for the full range of activities which includes project management to implement and enhance any applications used by the firm and will be responsible for developing and executing an effective technological and operational roadmap for WaterOak.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead the implementation of all WaterOak technology Initiatives

  • Assess current business processes and evaluate the impact of business process changes required by strategic initiatives

  • Provide assistance with the execution of business initiatives with a goal of providing WaterOak with a competitive advantage

  • Liaise with colleagues across the parent company and affiliates to foster inter-departmental cooperation

  • Oversee standard operating procedures that support the investment operations process, including reconciliation of accounting records, reporting, and advisory fee invoicing

  • Offer front-line support for technology and operations to colleagues

  • Provide direction for applying the next generation of technology solutions

  • Practice continuous improvement and continual learning.

  • Stay abreast of trends and changes in industry and technology field

  • Maintain WaterOak’s effectiveness and efficiency by supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies

  • Supervise staff of operations and administrative staff

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience supporting wealth management

  • Experience working with portfolio management applications

  • Extensive knowledge of current technologies used by wealth management firms

  • Strong commitment to continued learning

  • Expertise in conflict resolution

  • Experience in budgeting, risk management and change management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong people management skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in all project situations that will include cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to gain consensus in a diverse working group that may involve both IT and business leaders across multiple disciplines.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
