Hub International Director of Practice Infrastructure in Boston, Massachusetts

Preferred locations : KC, San Diego, Chicago or Boston; however, we are open to speaking with candidates from across the US.

This is a unique opportunity to come in and help lay the foundation of growth for data managed within the Retirement & Private Wealth (RPW) organization. The work completed will position the organization for significant organic growth within and across lines of business. This role will manage multiple internal and external data sources that will be leveraged throughout the RPW technology platform.

The individual in this role will have the critical task of developing a cohesive data strategy and this position will have significant input on both strategy development and execution. This role will require a solid understanding of data and a strong background or interest in using tools such as Tableau or Python.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the retirement and private wealth data sets and ensures timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of the data.

  • Oversee the third party Recordkeeper Data feeds, including an analysis of missing plans & funds to develop an overall data-report card to be provided to each firm.

  • Provide ongoing support to help the finance team resolve Retirement Plan & Wealth Management compensation data from Recordkeepers, Broker Dealers, RIAs and Custodians.

  • Streamline the process of Enhanced Reporting by working daily with vendor tools to extract data.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver RPW technology solutions that are integrated into existing systems, able to scale and automate data retrieval and search capabilities.

  • Participate in technology vendor management activities.

  • Work internally with internal technology team & vendors to facilitate necessary data integrations across multiple lines of business including Commercial Lines, Employee Benefits, Property & Casualty, and Retirement Plan & Private Wealth-related business development including but not limited to Financial Wellness, In-Plan Participant Advice, Managed Accounts, Rollovers & Financial Planning

  • Lead the drafting and/or coordination of business requirements for data-related projects.

  • Setup and Leverage data analysis tools to create a data-nimble organization.

  • Maintain a positive approach and be able to build structure around undefined requirements.

  • Provide advisor-facing support to data-related issues including loading retirement plan & fund data to the advisor facing RPW Technology Platform and identifying and reconciling missing plan information.

  • Partner with advisors and their teams to reconcile compensation issues related to third party data.

  • Assist Advisors with troubleshooting functionality issues throughout the RPW Technology Platform.

  • Assist Advisors with any data related issues on the RPW Technology Platform.

  • Collaborate across the Retirement organization and HUB to develop and implement actions required to create and support the operational infrastructure needed to drive growth. This includes creation and use of tools, systems, processes, and the appropriate people across the organization.

  • Monitor RPW Technology Platform Adoption and work with advisor offices to integrate this more deeply into the solution set.

  • Contribute to strategic development of next generation Retirement Plan & Private Wealth Data Analysis and Report Generation capabilities.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to flex and adapt to changing organizational needs as this function continues to grow and evolve.

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrable competency in data management and analytics (required)

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics and business infrastructure (Required)

  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and other data manipulations applications (Required)

  • High level of comfort leveraging data analysis tools such as Python, Tableau (Preferred) and/or ability to quickly come up to speed on these tools based on prior experience with similar technology.

  • At least five or more years of proven experience in a similar role in the securities industry, preferably in the retirement space (Preferred)

  • At least ten years of work experience assisting teams in building and solving data related issues.

  • Ability to work well with other, leverage effective emotional intelligence, proactively anticipate and develop solutions, and work collaboratively with multiple teams

  • Aptitude for proactive and reactive (fixing existing problems) Problem Solving

  • Ability to work more strategically and also be comfortable rolling up-your-sleeves and working with team members to solve day to day problems (Required)

Department General Management

Required Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Up to 25%

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
