OVERVIEW
The Director of Product Management Health Language (HL), is a key leader on the HL management team responsible for driving innovation, development, and customer penetration of the Health Language products and expert solutions
LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA or Remote (Eastern Time Zone work)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Head and manage a direct team of Product Managers, and coordinating an indirect matrixed team across the business unit, manage all product management, technology development, customer research and user interface design, systems operations, customer engagement, and content and business case creation for all HL data products and solutions
Manage a substantial process of deep customer research, involving contextual inquiry, market development, market research, and strategic partnerships to develop a deep understanding of evolving market needs across all of the product lines
Guide an experienced team of product managers to turn customer insights into a continually maintained three-year roadmap of innovation, feature development, and product enhancement, sufficient to transform Health Language products into key Wolters Kluwer expert solutions within 1-3 years
Coordinate all matrixed teams involved in technology product development (product management, technology, QA, customer research, systems operations, platform development) in an organized, high-productivity methodology of technology delivery, achieving or exceeding key business milestones for product launches, and achieving budgeted annual revenues for all product lines through successful market penetration and high customer satisfaction (NPS)
Coordinate key research and development teams within HL to ensure steady process of transfer of advanced technology research (artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other) into core product development roadmaps to support rapid transformation of Health Language into an expert solution
Ensure stability of key product platforms in market through establishment of and adherence to high-performance standard operating procedures for cybersecurity, high availability, data protection, regulatory compliance, and accessibility
Drive compliance with disciplined development processes (lean and other) across all involved teams to ensure that product development progresses in accordance with objective, customer-oriented, data-based methodologies including Lean
Become a key product visionary and evangelist within Wolters Kluwer Health, communicating product brand and positioning to internal and external stakeholders
Serve as high-credibility “salesperson” for medical research products to key high-value customer accounts supporting the sales team in the effort to win competitive bidding processes through persuasive presentation of WK innovation roadmaps
Support Director of Marketing and Strategy as part of high-level business strategy development, team culture creation, market problem-solving, and other group-wide activities as needed
Staff Management and Leadership
Establish performance goals and support staff in their professional development; provide ongoing feedback
Ensure you have the right talent in place to deliver on your plan
Ensure the team is aligned through KPI reporting and regular qualitative check ins
Ensure the team is executing effectively through regular goal reviews and monitoring of KPIs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: B.A. or B.S. required
Required Experience
Minimum 10 years in product management of complex, high-revenue, high-scale B2B technology products in healthcare
Minimum 8 years of experience in management with atleast 4 years in Director-level role or higher
Demonstrated track record of success in designing, delivering, and managing successful B2B software products to successful achievement of challenging revenue goals.
Must have direct responsibility for product strategy, design and product delivery
Candidates must have deep familiarity with technology delivery
Must possess technology product management background (market analysis, requirements generation, roadmap management).
Preferred Experience:
Background in healthcare and working with healthcare data is preferred
Minimum 3 years of Health Analytics experience is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong expertise in every stage of the product development process from concept to post-launch, with deep background in formal development processes such as Lean
Experience developing and leading the execution of go-to-market plans
Financial analysis and forecasting
Ability and willingness to travel extensively to meet business goals and objectives
Collaborative team player with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and extreme attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively. Experience managing and coordinating efforts across complex teams in a Fortune 500 style corporate environment.
Excellent executive-level people leadership skills, including talent development, project management, resource allocation, and crisis resolution
Demonstrated ability to perform well in customer-facing presentations and pitches
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
10 - 15% travel
