Oracle Director-Project Management, Supply Chain Finance in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description

Manages people who lead internal projects/programs which focus on the delivery of internal products or administrative systems. These projects need a distinct beginning and an end.

Manages employees who perform project management duties which involving cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of internal products or administrative systems. Oversees plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets. Monitors programs/projects from initiation through delivery and interfaces with internal customers or department personnel. Organizes project activities and interdepartmental meetings. Ensures communication facilitates completion of the program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills and analytical skills BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of project management or related experience needed.

Oracle is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Project Manager to partner with finance and business teams to achieve organization goals and priorities. A background in supply chain management, experience in server technology industry and working knowledge of equipment manufacturing with the ability to apply sound business judgement. Strong ability to communicate at executive levels but still engage in and direct detail work will be of key importance.

A successful candidate will build positive relationships with key business partners as well as engineering resources to ensure the successful delivery of business-critical initiatives to support supply chain scaling. Provides analysis and advice to management in the areas of supply chain operations, equipment manufacturing, procurement, finance, process improvement and operational excellence. Develop and monitor metrics to measure key indicators and business performance. Similarly, this role will also be involved with defining end user requirements and supporting successful implementations across multiple teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to take strategic initiatives and programs and slice it into manageable projects providing direction, oversight, and control for worldwide operations

  • Ability to manage multiple programs/projects within given deadlines in a fast-paced and complex environment

  • Drive business process efficiencies: understand the levers that drive an integrated process and work across the functional organizations to deliver an optimal solution

  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive participative style

  • Scope new projects, resource needs and create executive presentations

  • Develop customer requirements outlines and vision statements for projects

  • Act as a change management catalyst and a key interface and bridge between the various teams

  • Ensure Oracle's own deployment of Oracle products is a leading showcase of advanced business thinking

  • Involved in user acceptance testing and sign-off of end products

  • Ability to manage projects / program status throughout the development lifecycle

  • Ability to manage a team

  • Ability to multi-task, and serve as a team player


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Management or equivalent combination of studies and experience

  • 10+ years of total work experience, with direct supply chain experience

  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • PMP and / or SCRUM certified

  • Strong communication skills

  • Understanding of Fusion, Enterprise Management systems, BI tools, Jira, Confluence is desirable but not required
