Thermo Fisher Scientific Empower Training and Support Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts
The position represents an opportunity to join a team engaged in the development and commercialization of global service products used in regulated labs around the world. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Waters Empower 3 and hands on experience with Thermo Fisher SII driver and chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation. Objectives include designing, developing, and delivering Waters Empower 3 training and support evaluating distance learning and latest technologies like virtual and augmented reality tools. Duties will include extensive project and time management for creating content, training then field service teams while providing support of issues. Critical thinking skills and attention detail are a must. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to play a significant role in driving growth with sales of instrumentation and field service products. Some international and domestic travel is required.
Provide global field service Empower training for installing Thermo instruments under SII (Standard Instrument Integration) driver control.
Provide global field service Empower training for qualifying Thermo instruments under SII (Standard Instrument Integration) driver control.
Provide global field service and sales Empower training for customer familiarization for operating Thermo instrument using SII driver control.
Develop global e-learning, online and instructor led training plans and materials for applicable Empower courses.
Work with hardware training group on incorporating Empower in LC/IC/GC factory courses (bootcamp).
Work with TMC group for documentation and certification.
Technical reviewer for all Empower based protocols.
Maintain a training instance of Empower CDS.
Stay current on all Empower releases.

How will you make an impact?
Become the knowledge expert for Waters Empower to support the field service teams globally to help drive new Thermo Scientific equipment installations in pharma and biotech that utilize Waters Empower Software. You will develop, implement and maintain a global training structure that powers services growth and excellence.
What will you do?
Design, develop, and deliver using the latest technologies for effectively and efficiently train and support a global filed service team on Waters Empower software. Stay current with knowledge of the latest operating system, software, and driver releases, and maintain training accordingly. Provide technical support for internal personnel and external customers on the use and integration of Thermo Fisher instruments with Waters Empower. Become an expert on the use of the Thermo Fisher SII Waters Empower driver.
Bachelor degree desired, high school diploma/GED is minimum requirement
Waters Empower configuration, implementation and usage experience required.
IT experience in a regulated laboratory setting (CDS system administration or key user preferred).
Preferred experience working with Chromatography Instruments in regulated laboratories.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of Waters Empower 3 Software platform and its features for administration, usage, and configuration.
Experience with CDS software in a laboratory setting utilizing chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation.
Experience working under pharma regulations (GxP) or in other regulatory activities.
Basic Chemistry knowledge.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite of Software.
Project management and teamworking skills.
Public speaking and soft skills for training and support activities.
