Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Enterprise Architect, Information Security in Boston, Massachusetts

This senior security technologist will provide oversight, leadership and guidance to the BCBSMA Information Security Team. He / She will be responsible for the envisioning and realization of our enterprise security architecture. This person will need a wide range of experience in the security domains of Security Operations, Risk, Compliance and Identity Management and the tools and philosophical approaches associated with each. He/She will be a subject matter expert for all aspects of the Information Security Program and be a leader on the Architecture Review Board, ensuring initiatives introduced meet business objectives and are aligned with our security architecture. This will also be required to act as a change agent within the department and throughout BCBSMA by continually implementing industry standards and best practices. Contributes to security architecture and business strategic planning by providing objective feedback, insight, and recommendations. Actively contributes to staff development and internal departmental process improvement, acting as a role model and mentor to colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Member of Architecture Review Board, weighing in on new products and initiatives.

  • Reviews technology and security projects, making recommendations with regard to product selection, configuration and design.

  • Remains informed and intimate with current technology solution trends and approaches.

  • Remains informed and intimate with current threat landscape and how it impacts our enterprise current state.

  • Acts as a point of escalation to individual contributors and Information Security leadership team.

  • Delivers dashboards and reports to a wide audience demonstrating our current program state and adherence to framework standards.

  • Understands current enterprise technology architecture and business processes with the goal of addressing issues and providing an informed opinion to leadership teams.

  • Use the information generated by our governance tools to assist in driving awareness and change to stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance and requirements to Information Security technology teams with the goal of defining standard processes, documentation, key controls to monitor and metrics to gauge effectiveness.

  • Prepares, evaluates and presents security solutions and recommendations to senior leaders.

  • Recommends, coordinates and implements technical controls to ensure policies and processes are performing as intended.

  • Assist in Business Needs Assessments and feasibility studies establishing clear program and associated IT information security program goals

  • Act as an Information Security gatekeeper for enterprise projects and proposed changes.

Background and Experience

  • BS in Technology or Computer Science (Master’s Degree preferred) related field with 7+ years of experience required.

  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification required.

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification preferred.

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification preferred.

  • Other Information Security and Risk certifications considered.

  • Expert knowledge in operating within a standard industry recognized framework.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing a security engineering or security operations team in a large, complex enterprise.

Experience in the role of enterprise or security architect, delivering effective solutions in a large, complex enterprise.
