Grant Thornton LLP Finance Transformation Director in Boston, Massachusetts

Position Summary – Enterprise Business Services

Grant Thornton is seeking a Finance Transformation Director to join the team in Chicago. Additional approved locations include New York (Manhattan), Atlanta, Boston, and Texas (Dallas).

As organizations continue to explore ways to increase the value and support provided to the core business by SG&A functions rethinking their overall operating model continues to be a critical enabler to that. Our Enterprise Business Services (EBS) team is focused on working across those SG&A functions and partnering with teams across our Transformation function to define and implement strategies that assist our clients in driving agility into the organization, increasing business partnering and strategic decision making, improvements to managing / retaining talent and driving overall efficiency through the application of organizational design, global shared services and outsourcing concepts.

As a Director in this group you will be responsible for helping the team define and grow the overall solution offering, assisting in creating & developing new client relationships, partnering across the entirety of our Transformation practice to drive cross-functional synergies and developing and mentoring our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple client service delivery teams in the active execution of engagements to help ensure compliance with firm and practice unit service delivery standards

  • Utilize operating model, organizational design, shared services and outsourcing experience to identify and resolve complex / global issues for our clients

  • Utilize technical and functional operation/transformation knowledge to identify complex client issues, broaden client relationships and develop a reputation as a thought leader across our Transformation offerings

  • Perform accurate analysis and design effective solutions for a variety of client issues

  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services

  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives

  • Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management

  • Interview campus and/or experienced candidates

  • Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization)

  • Partner with functional and business development leaders to expand the knowledge/footprint of the EBS solution through internal channels

  • Lead / support the EBS team in developing and maturing the EBS solution offering awareness in external channels – clients, industry groups, etc.

  • Lead business development activities, such as identification, proposal development and other pursuit activities at clients.

  • Mentor and develop Associates, Senior Associates and Managers

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a consulting role serving cross-industry clients at a national level, or relative SG&A function role(s) within industry

  • Experience with implementing, operating or managing Global Shared Services or Outsourcing arrangements

  • Track record of developing client relationships and/or “selling” initiatives in a project related environment

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases.

  • Comfort working across all aspects of Transformation related initiatives (i.e., people, process, technology, information)

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Travel: TBD as pandemic restrictions are removed

The base salary range for this position in New York City (Manhattan) only is between $199,500 and $299,300.
