GHC – HomeSafe – Operational Planning Manager

HomeSafe Alliance is the single global household goods movement manager for USTRANSCOM and the U.S. Armed Forces, Department of Defense civilians, U.S. Coast Guard, and their families.

The Operational Planning Manager reports directly to the VP Customer Care, providing support for development and implementation of strategic and operational plans that enable the Customer Care team to deliver extraordinary customer service to our customers and clients completing over 300,000 Military Household Goods moves per year.


  • Ensure effective prioritization and coordination of business project timelines, key deliverables, initiatives and financial budgets.

  • Define the operational planning process and work with business and functional leaders to plan and execute our strategic roadmap.

  • Oversee department budget and ensure team adherence to financial processes and deliverable timelines.

  • Establish management routines that ensure key stakeholders receive timely and relevant updates on prioritized efforts and objectives.

  • Provide innovative communications support to executive leadership for board/TRANSCOM/committee meetings, strategic or operational planning events, monthly business meetings, and other management routines.

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with an internal cross-function HomeSafe Alliance team, partnering to ensure overall mission accomplishment and adherence to contractual deliverables, obligations and service level objectives.

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Develop appropriate action plans to address business issues


  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of work experience, education and training

  • 5 years project/program management experience supporting senior level executives and/or overseeing strategic planning

  • Demonstrated capability to navigate in fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.

  • Clear and compelling communicator that can deliver effective oral and written messages, flexing to meet the needs and styles of varied audiences.

  • Advanced experience of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proven ability to work closely with business leaders and functional departments to develop solutions to complex problems and projects.

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships in a geographically distributed/remote environment.


  • Military experience and/or immediate family member of a military member while on active duty.

  • Master’s Degree or Professional Designation

  • Experience in program management or strategic planning in a contact center environment

Fraud Alert
