WTW Head of Data Platforms & Services in Boston, Massachusetts
The Head of Data Platforms & Services is the global leader for the Data Platforms & Services team within the technology organization of WTW. The focus of the role will be to partner and collaborate with all the business and technology groups, lead a team of colleagues to provide data solutions and services that are aligned to the business strategy and needs.
We are seeking a hands-on, data-driven, innovation-focused individual who will make a positive impact and maximizes opportunities for using data consistently and effectively to generate analytics and insights. The person will demonstrate an excellent understanding of current trends in the data sciences field and can leverage them to meet WTW needs.
The role can be based in either the US or UK and will report into the Chief Technology Officer of WTW.
Provide leadership, vision and direction to the resources dedicated to support Data Platforms & Services group.
Proven track record in data management, leadership, and related platforms and tools with a strong background in analytics, technology, business and/or mathematics is advantageous.
Familiarity with legal risk related to data usage and rights, ability to implement data privacy policies and ensure compliance with data protection regulations is required.
Lead the team responsible for defining and developing data strategy, data architecture, data models, data migration and mapping, analytics needs across WTW.
Partner and collaborate with the line of business technology leaders, product owners and other business stakeholders to develop and implement data solutions and services and ensure alignment and effectiveness.
Actively participate and contribute to the execution and success of the Technology and business transformation workstreams.
Partner with enterprise technology teams and external partners to pursue opportunities to securely leverage cloud infrastructure while maintaining a robust security posture.
Deliver the evolving portfolio of data initiatives with a focus on maximizing the value to the businesses and their clients, whilst following the “common as possible, distinct as necessary” philosophy.
Lead and develop the team, ensure effective day to day operations, change management, ensure deadlines, budgets and service levels are met, set onjectives, define career paths, provide learning and development opportinities, conduct performane reviews, and continually improve results.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or related field is required.
Significant experience in data management or related technology solutions area with experience in leadership roles.
Candidate must have experience in data architecture, data management, or data science fields. Experience with BI and Analytics is a plus.
Leadership skills and experience in engaging, managing and influencing teams in a non-hierarchical global environment with cultural awareness.
Strong knowledge of data architecture, data integration, master data management, analytics, and their application to solve business needs / opportunities with ability to lead a team of highly skilled hands-on associates focused on collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data for internal and external consumption.
Expertise in evaluating both external and internal capabilities that are required to support the data solutions and services needs of WTW.
