Executive Bureau

Attorney General Maura Healey is looking for a highly motivated individual to join her team as an Information Governance Specialist in the Office of the Attorney General’s Executive Bureau.

Primary Duties: The Information Governance Specialist (IGS) supports the governance and management of the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) data. The IGS will support initiatives in the Office around eDiscovery; public records; case management; case-related conflicts of interest; records retention; legal holds; and other governance responsibilities, interfacing with the General Counsel’s Office, Information Technology Division, and eDiscovery operations. The duties are a blended mix of detailed, hands-on work and include:

  • loading, processing, administering, and producing of data;

  • information management; project management; quality control;

  • data management and integrity with the development and execution of best practices and workflows;

  • creation of documentation;

  • running of reports;

  • communication of statuses;

  • building of solutions; and

  • training staff on use of templates and processes.

Responsibilities of the IGS will also include assisting with the development of guidelines and processes affecting these areas; enhancing the AGO’s ability to identify case-related conflicts of interest upon case intake; and assisting the AGO as it continues to enhance its integrated data management systems. The IGS will manage the litigation hold process, communicating with custodians, reporting of critical legal preservation data, processing documentation, maintaining the internal tracking database, and providing quality control on electronic document loads and productions.

Position Type: Full-time/Exempt

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000, depending upon experience.

Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Computer Forensics, Computer Information, Computer Science, Data Science, or a Computer-related degree is preferred.

Knowledge and experience in eDiscovery with eDiscovery databases, such as One, Relativity, Everlaw, or other eDiscovery software tools, and strong computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a demonstrated ability to master new applications are required. Experience using relational databases, various operating file systems, and basic computer scripting or programming is a plus.

Experience in the litigation support industry is required. Experience in the public or private legal sector is preferred.
