Aqueduct Technologies is seeking an IT: Business Systems Analyst – Associate for their customer based in Boston, MA. The IT team is responsible for both the maintenance and development of the companies’ Portfolio Management, Trading, Investment Services, Investment Compliance, and Client Operations teams. This position requires an experienced technical resource with solid project management skills, as well as experience working in the Investment Management industry. This position requires attention to detail, excellent leadership, communication skills and the ability to work both independently and closely with other team members and business users in the firm.
Providing system-level support of internal and third-party vendor applications including the management of enhancements, upgrades, maintenance, and support of these systems.
Strong project management skills including business requirements management, status reporting, issue resolution and on time delivery of initiatives.
Vendor management for third party applications is essential in this role. This position will work closely with vendors tracking support issues, customizations, business use cases for vendor products, third-party enhancements, and upgrades.
Managing QA and user testing initiatives for each project.
Partnering with business users to understand their needs and requests, as well as prioritizing future requests.
Managing the technical resources (Development, QA and Operational) assigned to the project to ensure work streams are clear and delivered on time.
Conducting analysis across multiple systems to determine source locations for required data for reporting needs.
Assist in the documentation of technical specifications, testing strategies and outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Computer Science or related concentration is required.
5+ years of technical project management in Investment Management industry.
Able to create macros and power query SQL linked spreadsheets in order to have stop gap semi-automated solutions for business while Dev works on end goal
Expert in data analysis and manipulation
Creation of primary key lookup variables; Vlookup and Hlookup knowledge; Self-starter in Array creation for data analysis
Power Point Expertise
Ability to create visual “requirements” to outline system interactions and table structures
Presentation skills to review requirements with Business to get buy in and Dev to translate to functional results
Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of SQL
Experience with Power BI and Data modeling
Data Normalization and Mapping
Experience running meetings and providing agendas/minutes to assure clear communication and consensus
Ability to provide Status reports for multiple projects
Ability to breakdown projects to deliverable components
Create JIRA tickets based on intermediate deliverables to a larger goal
Estimation for overall project deliverables based on feedback from stakeholders
Self-started to contact SME’s or vendors when help is needed to solve an issue
Clear concise communication skills both verbal and written
System and Industry Experience
Financial Services experience preferable in Operations a must
SQL, Excel/PPT, MS Office expert Must
Satuit, Power BI a plus
Billing / GL systems experience a plus
Provide Status updates for multiple projects that the candidate is responsible for
Meeting with SME’s and stakeholders to determine scope and variables of a given project, documenting and gaining signoff on the scope of a given project
Meeting with DEV to solve problems or clarify requirements where needed
Working with business to determine solutions to problems including stopgap near term solutions while intermediate and long term still under development
Working with PROD SUPPORT to train on system support for front line level support items (ie user setup, pwd reset, vendor app updates)
User knowledge led testing to ensure business requirements are met - - beyond functional testing
Working to gain knowledge of system interdependencies and to be able to understand impact of changes to one or several systems
