Robert Half IT Director in Boston, Massachusetts

Description • The Director of Technology they hired is out on leave for at least 1-2 months, possibly longer

• They are not sure how long the leave will last, it could be even longer, but not positive

• If the Directory of Technology doesn’t return from leave or the leave gets extended, this job

could get extended or turn into a temporary to permanent role

• Salary upon conversion would be around 120k

• There are 250 end users at this company, primarily Windows environment and a few Macs

• This person must have experience as a Director/Manager infrastructure side of things, not

software or SDLC management/director

o They would be OK with a System Engineer, Network Admin, Network Engineer, etc. – as long as

the person has been managing reports, budget, etc.

• Our contractor will not be making budget decisions, managerial oversight decisions,

\cost/effectiveness or their IT systems – this person is here for a few months to keep the system functional

o If it gets extended or goes perm, then of course the responsibilities would increase

• This contractor will have some reports - 4 reports – IT Support Specialist, Tech Support

Manager, Project Manager, Cloud Engineer, might be more delegating responsibilities,

• Tasks and Day to Day: provisioning laptops, getting them sent out to employees, t

roubleshooting the huts/lodges, etc., helping with the Starlink installation of the lodges/huts, will

NOT be handling budget, will not be looking at Cost of systems, only here for system

functionality, being able to provide direction to 4 reports, maybe some AV experience, network

traffic, disaster recovery plan

o They will be asked to provide some direction to their reports, but it will not be day to day

management of these folks – more of a “dotted line” report. Our person is covering the leave of

the VP but they will not be the “boss” of the direct reports, but overseeing the reports is part of

the job.

• The experience at the managerial/director level, AWS + Azure, Windows environment

experience, experience with environment going from on prem to cloud

• 1-2 days a week onsite in the Boston office. There could be 20-25 employees in the office on

average

• They are in the process of going from on-prem servers and hosting application to moving into the cloud with AWS/Azure, so they want someone to help with that

• The ideal culture fit would be a hiking enthusiast or an outdoor enthusiast, but this is not a must

have

• Culture wise this company has great work/life balance, people love working there, they stay for

a long time. It is a fun place to work. If converted perm the vacation, benefits and perks of this

job are great

• They are in the process of adding Starlink to all of their hiking/outdoor lodges, so that will be a

big project they will be a part of Requirements
