Museum of Science IT Help Desk Technician in Boston, Massachusetts

Provide hands-on user support for day-to-day administration, maintenance, hardware, and software support of internal staff machines and services. Exhibit superior customer service, utilize problem-solving skills, demonstrate appropriate judgment and flexibility, and properly track issues to ensure that Museum staff members are able to effectively use IT resources. RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to 20+ work orders per week Manage and support 800+ devices and 300+ employees and volunteers throughout the Museum WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Schedule may require slightly shifted hours during summer and school vacation periods and may require working on some weekends and holidays. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Post high school course work, technical degree, associate's degree or business certificate One (1) year or more years of information system or technology or other related field experience Basic domain network administration ability with Microsoft Active Directory and other domain network applications Experience using and maintaining endpoint management and remote troubleshooting tools Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7/10 and Apple operating systems (OS X), hardware and general computer operation Demonstrated customer service/support experience Demonstrated listening and problem-solving ability Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook, and Office productivity tools Experience with work order tracking systems STARTING SALARY: Non-Exempt (Hourly). $24.50-26.50/hour BENEFITS: Benefits for full-time, non-exempt (hourly) staff include: free parking, T accessibility, 15 vacation days, 12 holidays, 10 sick days, medical, dental, and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, retirement and savings plan, health care/dependent care flex spending plan, a Museum membership, employee discounts, employee referral program, tuition assistance, professional development, direct deposit, free admission, free Duck Tours, discounted movie passes, and much more!
