The IT Manager CHAMPS shall be responsible for:

  • Leading the day-to-day activities of a team of experienced Analysts responsible for supporting our suite of Cerner Clinical applications. This is an active position that requires continuous monitoring, assessment, planning, and execution.

  • Maintaining a strong customer service focus. Developing the team’s operational standards, on-call schedules, vacation schedules, training plans, and other related administrative duties to ensure a stable work environment.

  • Effectively managing employees within assigned unit/department. Persuading and negotiating with peer level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department.

  • Evaluating current and projected demand for service and technology. Conducting research and evaluating new technologies/approaches. Recommending and implementing solutions.

  • Planning for, and implementation of, the preventative maintenance necessary to keep the applications performing optimally.

  • Working with staff, partner teams, and vendors to resolves complex problems. This involves functioning as a liaison between other groups, both inside and outside of the organization.

  • Training new staff in daily operations and procedures of the department.

  • Providing status reports and feedback to management.

  • Planning, supervising, and organizing system-related activities for the applicable ISD department.

  • Embodying the Hospital’s core values in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Interviewing, selecting, disciplining, and/or recommending employees for discharge in accordance with Hospital HR policy and practices. Conducting performance appraisals and proposing merit increases.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, Masters preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the health care information technology industry.

  • Extensive application implementation and/or support experience in healthcare is required, matching the level of expertise typically found after a minimum of 5-10 years in the industry.

  • Cerner experience is highly preferred, and a healthcare background is a plus.

Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
