Iron Mountain IT Solution Architect, Salesforce Platform in Boston, Massachusetts

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented hands-on individual to assist in the operations of our Salesforce organization as a Solutions Architect. The responsibilities of this position include improving the current Salesforce process, optimizing development and support operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating enterprise applications and programs between Salesforce and internal/external systems. The Solutions Architect is also responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, communicating, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models and strategies to deliver the organization's business and technology initiatives around Salesforce.

As a successful candidate for this role, you should have excellent technical, analytical, and problem solving skills. You should also have strong technical leadership, written and verbal communication, and team collaboration skills.

Candidate will possess the necessary balance of strategic vision coupled with hands-on leadership when needed. The Principal Architect - Salesforce Platform must have the ability to design systems, processes, and procedures that scale to meet the needs, challenges, and opportunities of the organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Communities, and Marketing. Multiple Salesforce certifications expected

  • Evaluate internal systems, business development strategies, and IT processes and suggest improvements

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business representatives, and subject matter experts to design IT systems and programs that meet business goals

  • Ensure that IT systems and program to be implemented are in synchronization with the needs of the company and compliant with company standards and policies

  • Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects and other technical resources to provide the best possible enterprise solutions

  • Architectural leadership in the resolutions of inter-program and inter-project issues

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimation of designing and implementing IT programs and systems

  • Assist IT leadership and business managers in developing policies and guidelines regarding the design and implementation of IT solutions

  • Educate non-technical employees on how to utilize programs and software solutions in managing work duties

  • Ensure the timely completion of enterprise IT projects in quality and budget

  • Provides oversight and governance of technology standards and frameworks for Salesforce initiatives

  • Encourages constant development of Salesforce team through mentoring and creating an environment of continuous learning.

  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with business stakeholders and partners across the enterprise

  • Establishes architectural best practice/standards and the right level of technical governance to help accelerate development/operations of state-of-the-art solutions

  • Encourages creativity and challenge traditional thinking to architect for innovation and value

  • Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. in order to lead strategic business direction of the department

  • Directs hands-on architecture design participation on large, complex projects

  • 10+ years in an IT development or solution architect role.
