IT Technical - IT Project Manager

job summary:

  • A Project Manager on the Halo team will perform the following duties:

  • Consistently make the success of their feature team and goals their highest priority and accountability

  • Conduct daily feature team meetings to collect progress updates and blockers

  • Report daily accurate feature team progress to group leadership, including risks, blockers, remediation plans, and calls to action.

responsibilities:

  • Along with the Technical Architect and the Business Analyst, form and maintain a triangle of leadership support to feature developers and testers

  • Plan development sprints based upon Feature Goals, as dictated by the Product Owner, that will consistently produce working software

  • Vigorously and consistently maintain the hygiene and accuracy of all team reports and backlogs, following processes as prescribed by the PMO

  • Regularly produce artifacts that record team progress and performance at any given time

  • Regularly assess risks and collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to eliminate or minimize impacts and surprises

  • Track and suggest improvements to existing organizational KPI's as well as identify opportunities to create new KPI's that drive consistent improvement.

  • Conduct Lessons Learned Meetings that lead to actionable organizational improvements

  • Regularly review and lead organizational process improvement initiatives, including cross-team from initiation to adoption.

Position/Program Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing at least 2 large software development or infrastructure projects simultaneously and working in large program environments through a complete software or system development lifecycle (from analysis, design, construction, testing and implementation, and warranty).

  • Demonstrated experience in driving digital transformation projects from ideation to release.

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully driving outsourced software vendors, both onshore and offshore, and establishing that the vendor's adhere to contractual stipulations and obligations to the firm, including established Service

  • Language Agreements and other contractual performance metrics.

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing Sponsor/customer expectations, negotiating deliverables that lead to working software, and interacting with sponsor on a regular basis as it relates to software and IT infrastructure implementations.

  • Excellent Customer Relationship Management mindset

  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively to technologists, business users, and executives.

  • Experience working with Business Analysts (BA's) across several functions to help scope and prioritize feature goals for each release.

  • Experience working with Technical Leaders (TL's) to develop and validate delivery plans that meet the release goals and timeline.

  • Willingness to assume singular accountability of their team meeting feature goals and expected KPI's.

  • Experience in working with leaders across QA, Support, Technical, and Business Functions

  • Experience working in an "agile-like" development environment, with the ability to be flexible in process to achieve team goals without sacrificing quality

Experience with project management toolsets, such as

  • MS Project

  • Team Foundation Server (TFS)

  • Experience with creation of reports and pivot charts in Microsoft Excel

Experience in successfully managing code and infrastructure implementation/integration including:

  • System and UAT level testing and coordination of code/infrastructure implementation

  • Resolution management of issues/bugs from testing and assessing impacts

  • Coordination of all technical activities, support activities and resolve identified issues associated with ""go-live."

  • Experience with coordination of cross-team activities, including working with Project Managers and sponsors on other teams

  • Ability to speak to the utilization and benefits of the following technical concepts: computer networking, cloud computing, relational databases, web-based applications, object-oriented programming, software version/source code control

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 8

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

  • Certification(s) Required: PMP or PMI-ACP

Knowledge Preferred:

  • A broad understanding and desire to further learn the business and market environment.

  • A high-level understanding of Microsoft Technologies, such as Windows Server, Azure, SQL Server, Sharepoint, Visual Studio, and C#

  • Experience in creating KPI's for the organization and team-members, and building lean processes to capture this data

  • Experience in driving Requirements development and traceability: User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Test Planning

Skills Preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience with the following:

  • Team Foundation Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

  • Contributing to the development of new Project Management practices and processes used by System Development life Cycle (SDLC) methodology

  • Overseeing Project Management processes and deliverables for the appropriate SDLC methodology used on projects and collaboration with the various project resources to facilitate the resolution of project issues.
